Light in the Dark

She ran to the mobile suit as it landed with perfection inside the hanger of the base on L-1. The Gundam stood, ragged and worn as it did normally after a battle but this time it has less life quality then it normally did. She stared at the hatch, waiting for it to open and its pilot to emerge unharmed as he always did, and she waited for what seemed like years but he didn't come from within the belly of the Gundam.
Her strawberry blonde hair blew in the wind as she climbed the platform beside the metal form, her blue-gray eyes sweeping over the hatch as she tried to figure a way inside. She tugged at the silver framed glasses, trying to slow her heart rate and relax to come to a logical way to open this thing. Finally something caught her eye, a piece of the hatch had been hit in battle and was curved inward slightly, if she could pry it open she could get the pilot out! So, she picked up a crow bar, gritted her teeth and began to pry at the opening.

The young man awoke in the hospital unit, lying in a bed. His messy brown hair was dried with blood, but his once wounded hands were wrapped in gauze and at his sides. The girl sat beside the bed in a wooden chair, he eyes never leaving his form and her lips curving up into a smile as she saw his eyelids flutter open.
"Hey, you're finally awake, I've been worried about you." She stated simply as he sat up and looked at her.
"A-Alisha?" he asked blearily, rubbing his head with a hand.
She nodded and walked to the bed, sitting beside the wounded pilot, "Heero, what were you thinking? You almost got killed!" he voice shook as she spoke, tears stinging at the corners of her eyes.
He gave a soft "hn" and rolled his eyes, though their Prussian blue beauty returned to her form as though to try and reconcile. He almost half smiled before she took his hands.
"Heero, I don't think the group could survive without you. Please promise me you'll never give up like you did before, you're the light that shows everyone the way." She said, tears now free falling down her cheeks as she fought to keep her voice steady.
His eyes widened and he squeezed her hands lightly, trying to regain his composure, trying to get the perfect soldier façade back but failed miserably. "I am not the light, it could be Duo or Quatre or you, but certainly not me, and you must be mistaken."
She shook her head and held his hand to her chest, the tears not stopping long enough for her to wipe them away. "You are the light, Heero, so please tell me you won't leave us." she almost sobbed and he closed his eyes for a moment before leaning up close to her.
"If you don't want me to leave, I won't, alright? I couldn't if it hurt you, Alisha.you know that." He said softly as she curled into his chest, her head lying on his shoulder.
"Imagine part of the darkness that fell in love with the light.." she whispered into his ear, tears staining the hospital gown he wore.
"Imagine the light that engulfed the darkness." He whispered back, stroking her hair with this less bandaged hand.
She smiled and he lifted her chin in his hand, bringing her lips to his and he kissed her lightly. Her hands slipped around his shoulders and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I love you, Hee-kun." She whispered as their lips parted.
"I love you too, Alisha-hime." He said, leaning is so their lips could touch once again.
