It was almost night in Arendelle, Anna and Elsa were on their way to Elsa's ice castle to ice skate with Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf who were already there, waiting for them. It was very cold, and Anna had to wear comfortable clothes and Elsa was not bothered by it.
"Why did you tell them to go ahead of us?" Elsa asked her little sister.
"Why? You tired?" Anna smirked.
Elsa shook her head, "I'm just wondering why we took the long way there and they took the fast way there." Elsa says as they walked past trees.
"Is it bad to walk with your little sister?" Anna smiles and the sisters laugh.
They continue walking and it is brightly moonlit. There is a flash of lightning that sends a ghostly illuminating sheet of light over the sisters' faces. The clap of thunder follows loud and rumbling.
"Please don't rain." Anna said.
It begins to rain heavily. The sisters decide to go back to their castle. Elsa creates an umbrella out of ice.
"Don't worry about them, the ice castle will be their shelter from the rain." Elsa tells her little sister. They walk. The rain turns to a light drizzle, then a few minutes later, the drizzle stops. They are standing, listening. They hear a howl.
"Did you hear that?" Elsa asked her sister. Anna nodded. "Don't be scared Anna, I'm right here." Anna and Elsa smiled at each other. They continue walking.
Another howl, this one long and loud. It is a very inhuman noise, terrifying, and closer this time.
They are both visibly worried and walk briskly back to their castle. Although after a bit of fast walking, they stop; out of breath. "Come on, Anna. Let's keep moving." Elsa tells her sister. A growl. A low guttural growl comes from out of the darkness. It starts to walk.
"It's moving." Anna says. Elsa points out that it is circling around them.
And indeed, it is. A snarl. The sisters keep on walking ignoring the creature watching them. The thing stalking them seems to speed up. The girls hesitate as they sense it run past them. It stops.
"It's in front of us." Anna says, gulping. She is scared. Elsa holds her hand, telling her to not be afraid.
Something is waiting in the darkness. Its hulking shape is barely discernible, but its eyes glow eerily, and its breath is visible. They are in a full-out run by now. After a few minutes flight they stop, panting. A moment of quiet, then a howl. They are close to the kingdom.
"It sounds far away, but not far enough." Elsa says.
Then, the wolf springs and attacks them!
The lunging brown haired beast brings Anna down in one fell swoop. Elsa falls back onto the ground. Anna is screaming for Elsa's help and is struggling as the wolf attacks the young princess. Anna fights the dark savage shape on top of her. Fangs clamp down on her shoulder. Then, Elsa scrambles to her feet and tries to shoot the wolf that is attacking her sister. She shoots the wolf with an ice crystal to the side. The wolf runs away in pain.
The queen goes to her injured sister, dazed, barely awake, bloody, and in pain. "Don't worry Anna, you'll be fine." Elsa tells her little sister. Suddenly, she hears somebody calling for her. She looks to see some guards who heard the young princess's cries. The guards see the queen and injured princess on the snowy ground, and they come to help the royals. "Your highness, what happened?" One of the guards asked her. "A wolf attacked the princess. Take her to the castle doctor." Elsa orders them. The guard carefully picks up the injured princess and carries her back to the castle.
Anna wakes up in a room. She lays on her back in bed, her shoulder bandaged. There are several cuts and abrasions on her arms and face, but she really doesn't look too bad. She opens her eyes slowly, blinks, and tries to sit up and look around, but is unable to because of the pain. "Be careful, princess" She hears a voice, she looks around her and sees Elsa standing by the door with the Royal Physician. Anna smiles at the sight of her sister.
"How long have I been here?" Anna asked the physician. "You've been unconscious for 2 days. You've suffered some rather severe cuts and bruises, lost a bit of blood, but nothing too serious; black and blue for a while. You'll have some dueling scars to boast of." He told her, smiling.
"Go to sleep, Anna. It's nearly eight and I have some duties to attend to." Elsa tells her sister. The Queen kisses her on the forehead and leaves the room. Anna has fallen asleep. The royal physician leaves a glass of water next to Anna and he leaves the light on, he exits, closing the door.
Anna's Nightmare
Anna is in the forest, heavy breathing and the sounds of the runner crashing through the foliage. She stops near a tree. She is animal-like, the tenseness of a startled cat. His head makes sudden movements, looking about. She takes off, she runs fast and gracefully, taking long strides and leaps. She runs faster and faster. Suddenly she stops again, alert, listening. She moves with stealth, slowly she pushes some leaves aside.
There are several deer in the forest; they sense something and freeze. The buck turns his head, feeling the danger. The fawn gets pounced on, Anna forces it down, she is eating it, her mouth full of flesh, her face and hands covered with blood. She howls in triumph.
End of Nightmare
Meanwhile, Elsa was in her room, reading documents from other countries. Someone knocked on her door. Elsa tells the person to come in. It was Kristoff, he comes in the room, but he is not alone, with the ice harvester is Grand Pabbie.
"He wanted to talk to you." He tells her. Grand Pabbie walked to Elsa, the queen got on her knees to talk to him.
"Elsa, Anna was not attacked by any wolf. She was attacked by a werewolf." Elsa's eyes widen.
"What?" She was confused to what the old troll told her.
"Werewolves come out during the full moon. They can turn others into one with a bite or a scratch." Grand Pabbie explains. Elsa recalls that day, the wolf attacking Anna before the wolf ran away. "Tell me what I can do to help her." Elsa says to Grand Pabbie.
"I'm sorry, but there's nothing for you to do to help her." Grand Pabbie says. "Every full moon, she will transform. She needs to transform in a place far from here." The troll told her. Elsa nodded.
"When is the full moon?" Elsa asked Pabbie. He tells them the next full moon will be in three weeks and once she turns, she is dangerous to be around, if she can control the beast. "I'm sure she can control it." Elsa says.
Grand Pabbie believed Elsa's claim and rolled out of the room with Kristoff.
Elsa leaves the room as well and went to the room her little sister was in. When she enters the room, Anna was barely awake. The young princess heard the door open and saw her older sister. She smiles. Elsa walks toward her sister.
"Couldn't sleep?" Elsa asked Anna. Anna shook her head.
"I just woke up from a nightmare." Anna tells her older sister. Elsa sat next to her sister. Elsa sighs, "I need to tell you something."
Three weeks later
Kristoff, Anna, and Elsa were on their way by sled to the rock trolls' home. Grand Pabbie told them that there was a place where Anna can transform where she could not hurt anyone. They arrived there as the sun was setting down on Arendelle. Kristoff led them to a flat platformed grassed area. There were several trolls there, one of them is Grand Pabbie and behind them is a tall rectangle sized silver colored cage. The other trolls leave, only Grand Pabbie remained. Anna walked toward the cage.
"You're scared, aren't you?" The troll asked Anna. She nodded. "My first transformation...Will it hurt?" Anna asks Grand Pabbie. "I wish I could say no, but I would be lying. It is going to be the most painful experience of your life, but do not worry, Princess, they will be by your side. "He says pointing to the Queen of Arendelle and ice harvester.
Anna begins to feel the fear inside of her rise at the thought of the monster that now crept within the depths of her soul, waiting for its chance to break free. But on the other hand, she did have Elsa and Kristoff at her side, and she couldn't help but feel somewhat at ease.
"This bars in the cage Kristoff and the other trolls made is made of silver, a werewolf's weakness. If your werewolf tries to attack us outside of your cage, it will burn you." Grand Pabbie warned her.
"The full moon is almost upon us, Anna." Grand Pabbie looked at the young princess, telling her to go in the cage. Grand Pabbie uses a key to lock the cage, he gives the key to Elsa. "Once she is no longer a werewolf, unlock it." She nods.
Elsa held Anna's hand as she was in the cage. "Please stay." Anna pleaded, fear in her voice. "I won't leave your side, I promise. Every transformation, I will be there." Elsa tells her little sister. The full moon rises, Elsa, Kristoff, and Grand Pabbie took a few steps back in order to witness the young princess' metamorphosis as the combination of the full moon's light and Grand Pabbie's crystal made it possible for them to watch.
Anna looked at the full moon that is glowing ominously in its place in the sky. She feels pain in her stomach and dropped on the ground and got on her hands and feet and started coughing. She covered her mouth and continued to cough. Then, large amounts of blood started to drip from her mouth and splattered all over the cage. She suddenly clutches her head in pain, which suddenly begins to pound, she began to feel extremely hot all of a sudden, the heat turned into a burning pain that burst throughout her body. The young princess screamed in agony the pain grew even worse. she looked up at her older sister who returned her gaze with a look of a combination of both sorrow and pity. Her fingernails begin to peel off her hands as they were replaced by claws as well as her hands and fingers themselves begin to stretch and grow at an alarming rate. Anna starts to cough out blood and teeth, she opens her mouth revealing fangs now replaced places her teeth once were. Her eyes, which were shut tight, opened revealing her golden eyes that glowed with a supernatural brightness.
"Help." The princess in pain pleaded them. Elsa was helpless and couldn't do anything. Kristoff walked toward the cage. He looked at her girlfriend, and kneels down to speak to her, "Don't fight it, Anna. If you do, you'll die. Let the pain flow through you." Kristoff encouraged her and the princess nodded. The full moon reappeared from behind the clouds, making her blood feel like boiling lava in her veins. Anna felt like she was being burned alive, scorching from the inside out and unable to numb out the pain.
Anna's entire body began to grow suddenly, ripping off her nightgown as her body grew. She kept screaming until her cries of pain became deep and guttural as her vocal chord began to reform. Her spine cracked loudly and she threw her head back, crying out in pain as it begins to extend and her vertebrate started to protrude out of her back, making a line of bumps down her back. Anna let out a blood curdling cry which made Elsa wince as she watched her little sister becoming an animal. Her feet doubled size as they ripped out of her slippers; Anna flipped over onto her back and she feels her ribs expanding and she sees long strawberry blonde fur was starting to rise from her skin, her ears started to extend into a long canine like shape. It became more painful when her face starts to stretch forward as her skull structure became more like a wolf.
After three minutes of a painful transformation, the werewolf that was the Princess of Arendelle rose in the cage. The wolf was covered in strawberry blonde fur from top to bottom. The wolf's golden eyes zeroed in on them, pupils dilating as she growled. Does she recognize me? Elsa wondered. She was too frightened to move, scared she would discover that her little sister whether or not if she is completely gone, taken over by the spirit of the ancient creature she now saw before her. It suddenly reached out of the cage, trying to attack the three, roaring and growling at them, the silver made it stop as it burned the beast's skin. Elsa notices Kristoff coming towards the wolf, it growls and snarls at the ice harvester as if he was a threat. "I will not hurt you, Anna." He said. He removes his upper clothing and he began to transform into a wolf similar to Anna, his transformation only took seconds. His form is taller than Anna's and his body was covered in sandy blonde fur except for his face and ears. He resembled Anna's wolf but his face is shorter, they also have far less fur than Anna. He is mostly hairless, aside from a thin mane of fur running down the center of his back, the wolf in the cage sees the change that occurred in front of her and was unsure what she should do.
Meanwhile, Elsa's eyes widen when she saw the ice harvester transform into a werewolf in just seconds. "He has been a werewolf for years, he can control the wolf inside him. He is trying to communicate to your sister's wolf through telepathy." Grand Pabbie explained. Elsa looked at the troll and asked him how he knew they were attacked by one. He touches one of his crystals, "My father gave these to me before he made me leader of the rock trolls. One of the crystals he gave me allowed me to see what the full moon can do and what it can bring to the world." He explains. "But it also allows me to see where other werewolves are and what they are doing in their eyes. That night, the crystal showed me that werewolf attacking Anna and I had to warn you about had occurred." He tells her. Elsa thanks him.
Elsa looked the wolf that used to be her little sister. "Would she be able to control it?" The queen asked the troll, he answered by shaking his head. "They are different wolves. Your sister is a 1st Generation Werewolf or Lycan. They can only transform once a month. They are complete savages and have no control of their forms. It will take time for her to control it and become like Kristoff" Grand Pabbie explains to Elsa. "Kristoff is a 2nd Generation Lycan. They are able to transform back to their human forms and change into Werewolf forms when the moon is full and choose whether or not to transform into one., they have learned to channel their rage." The troll tells her.
Suddenly, Anna's wolf begins to give out a threatening growl to the wolf on the other side of the cage, and she began to roar at him. She then holds on the silver bars, not caring if it burns her, clawing at Kristoff's minutes later, the blonde wolf shifted back into a person and he put on his clothes, he returned to be with Grand Pabbie and Elsa. Elsa was conflicted if she should fear Kristoff or to trust him. "Her wolf is stronger than her, she's lost. It's keeping her in the darkness. She couldn't fight the wolf's control." He told them. Kristoff looked at Grand Pabbie and nodded telling him that they can handle it. The troll turned into a rock and rolled away.
Kristoff sat down on the grass, he tells Elsa to sit down next to him. She did. As they watched the wolf in the cage, Elsa could not let go over how Kristoff turned into a wolf in front of her. "How did you become a Lycan?" Elsa asked Kristoff, curious. "I was bitten by one years ago, Pabbie helped me control my wolf. It took me years controlling it and I'm sure Anna can too." Kristoff tells her. "Does it hurt when you transform?" Elsa asked him. Kristoff shook his head. "I have gotten used to the transformation every month, it doesn't bother me anymore." He says, Elsa then looked over to look at Anna's wolf, "Would she be able to get used to it?" Elsa asks him. "It took me months to get used to it because I am a 2nd Generation Lycan, but someone like Anna, a 1st Generation, it will years to get used to the transformation." He explains. "Sometimes, our transformations are different on each full moon, our wolves will look different every time you see them." He tells her.
Elsa notices that Anna's Lycan staring at her with her golden eyes and she snarls and growls at her. "It pains me seeing her like this, she doesn't recognize who I am." Elsa says. Kristoff tells her that she should rest. "I'll be watching her the whole night." He tells her. She nods and Elsa uses her magic to create a pillow and blanket out of ice and snow, she lays on the grass and fell asleep.
Several hours later, Elsa was woken up by loud groans of pain combined with snarls and growls. She sees Anna's Lycan is clutching its head as it is growling in pain. "What's happening to her?" Elsa asked Kristoff. The moon is setting and the sun is rising." He tells her. He explains that turning back into a person hurts more than turning into a wolf. They watched as the female Lycan's claws and paws shrank back into hands and feet, her fangs became teeth, she shrank as her extended wolf spine shrank, the line of bumps starts to disappear from her back. Her strawberry blonde fur returned underneath the skin, and her ears returned to normal. Her wolf shaped face starts to contract back into a human face.
The princess returned and was naked. She fell on the cage floor, she is asleep. Elsa uses the key to open the cage. Kristoff picks up Anna and he and Elsa return to the sled. As they rode back to Arendelle, Elsa hears someone whispering her name and looks over to Anna and sees her awake, the sisters smiled at each other. "I told you I wouldn't leave your side." Elsa tells her little sister as she gives her a little sister a kiss on the forehead.. Anna looked over to Kristoff who asked her if she remember being the wolf, she told him no. "All I remember after experiencing all that pain was being surrounded in darkness. I could hear your voice telling me to control the wolf, but I couldn't. It was stronger and it was keeping me in the darkness and I felt lost and alone." Anna tells them.
"Tell me... how long do I have to go through all these transformations?" She asks Kristoff. He tells her that she can only transform once a month. "I know you can control the wolf inside you." Kristoff says to Anna. "But what if I can't?" Anna asks. Elsa places her hand on her little sister's shoulder. "I know you can control it, Anna. I believe in you. You're stronger than it." She says to her sister
As they rode back to Arendelle, they were unaware that someone was watching them from the distance, smiling.
Thanks for reading! Who you think was watching them and who was the werewolf that attacked Anna?
