It felt like a dark and stormy night. It FELT like that, but the weather couldn't be more perfect for an autumn day in Unova.

Within the Pokemon League, all cameras were on the batle against Champion Iris. Her palms were sweating to a near-unhealthy level as she orders her last Pokemon, her Hydregion, to use Flamethrower.

The challenger? A Snivy with blue markings that entrap a streak of red in the middle. With a thought of his, a wall of energy protects his battered body from the attack, and he retaliates with a shockwave of psychic energy that knocks the opponent against a steel wall, causing the wall to creak and bend.

"And this is the power he's been hiding!" An announcer shouts. "Can Iris stop him?!"

A question with a swift answer, as the Snivy summons a blade, and slashes over and over and over again, with enough speed that it's virtually impossible to tell the exact number of slashes. As the Hydregion collapses in defeat, the Snivy makes a voice out of his power ring out:

"Light and darkness can be drawn on a graph as a sine wave. The peak is light, hope. The trough is darkness, pain. With this victory, I have brought a peak, and will pause it there, before darkness can take over. Starting with the undoing of the pain Trainers have brought.

I am Leaf, bringer and guardian of hope."
