A/N: Hey there, hi there, ho there! This is a itty-bitty fic I wrote as a resulte from a challenge. The challenge? I had to write about an HP icon I had, which featured Lupin and Snape arguing over a Hershey's bar. I was only allowed 250 words. I used 249. Yay me. I hope you all enjoy it :) Another chapter of "Abracadabra" should be out by the end of this week.
HBP comes out Saturday! YES!
It was midnight in Hogwarts when Harry Potter decided to take a stroll about the castle. It was quite in his nature to do such things, particularly when he was curious about something. He was certain that the Map revealing a man presumed to be dead walking around Hogwarts qualified as curious.
Harry rounded corner after corner, following the trail of what the Map declared to be Peter Pettigrew. He wished he'd brought his invisibility cloak despite having a map that never lied about anyone's whereabouts. He felt dread creep into him at the thought that perhaps he would be caught if the Map lied.
As he was pondering this, he heard it.
"Give it to me!"
"No!"
He knew those voices. Each was so distinct that no mistake could be made. Professors Lupin and Snape were undoubtedly having an argument.
Harry dared to peer around the corner as their tones became more vehement.
"Give it to me!" Snape demanded harshly.
"No!" Lupin replied as if he were a young child who refused to share.
Harry narrowed his eyes to see what exactly Snape was demanding be given to him, and suddenly knew why Lupin was being so stubborn.
Lupin had his fingers curled around a large bar of Hershey's, cradling it protectively. Harry knew how Lupin felt about chocolate anything– particularly large bars of it. Snape had no chance whatsoever, but was persistant.
"Give it to me!"
"No!"
Harry rolled his eyes and turned to vanish into the darkness.
