Arthur and I dated for many year, 5 if I remembered correctly. I had to job on writing stories for newspapers. Thanks to my boyfriend Arthur. He worked hard to find me a job. But the unexpected happened to me. Arthur told me he had something to tell me. So we sate down on the couch in the living room and held my hand and told me.
"_, love..." he went silent for a moment. "I`m going to the military."
I was shocked and my mouth flew open.
"The military!?When!? Why!?"
He shook his head."So I make enough money for collage.I don`t have enough in my bank to pay for it.I`m sorry but...i`ll be leaving tomorrow"
My heart sank.I wanted to cry but I try not to.
"Why didnt you tell me earlier?"
"Because..I didnt want to make you sad _...i`m sorry"

I watched as Arthur left to go to his plane. When he left tears ran down my cheeks. He promise me that he will write me often and he did. At less twice a month I would get a letter in the mail from him tell me he was doing fine. I was happy for him but deep inside I missed him allot.
Months passed and Arthur was supposed to come home in a few weeks. I was happy and ready to see Arthur again. I was going to make him tea and tell him how much I missed him. But I knowest Arthur was writing me less and less. Some month`s I didn`t get a letter from him at all. I figured he was busy but the past 3 months I didn`t get any letter from him and I was getting kind of worried.
When it was the final week when Arthur was supposed to some I got a letter in the mail. It was a letter from Arthur so once I got the mail I ran inside to read it. I was probably him telling me that he will come home soon. I looked at the envelope and I looked like it had something round in it so I opened it. But I didnt expect this...
The letter said:
"Dear _ _,
Arthur Kirkland passed away a few days ago. He told us to make sure this letter gets to you. Where sorry this happened."
When I read the letter I cried. My hear felt like someone smashed it into million peaces. I unfolded the letter and read Arthur`s letter. I has blood stains on it. And a golden ring fell out.
"Dear _,
I`m afraid I might not see you again... i`v been shot several times and losing allot of blood. The doctors tried everything but I have a feeling that I will not live. I will make sure this letter will get to you. Even if i`m dead or alive. I`m sure you saw the ring that was inside this letter..."
I looked down and grabbed the ring.
"I was going to ask you before I left but that was not the right moment to do it.I know this is not the right moment but...I must ask you one thing...will you marry me _?
I love you more then my life...if I died...then I died for you protection..."
The letter was not completed at the end of it the letters was kind of scrabbled and hard to read. That was probably when...no...
I looked at the ring and put it on my finger.
"Yes...YES!..."
