Glass Heart

Glass is fragile. If you drop it, it will break, as any child knows from experience with their mother's glass family heirloom. But a heart is more fragile than glass, and yet soft like a fruit, but so much more permeable…and susceptible to rotting from the inside and out.

His heart has been picked up and cherished, but then…somewhere along the line…it was dropped.

It was dropped twice.

It's like Fate is laughing at him behind his back… ("Oh, did I make you love two people who would eventually get together? My bad!")

It broke into a million little pieces and he simply could not be bothered to pick them up.

But somebody else did.

And someday, when he thinks that he's finally over his heartbreak…his heart will be returned to him, the million little shards lovingly put back together.

Except by then, he won't want it anymore: His fragile glass heart will be happier and safer in its repairer's hands.

Ending Notes: I thought I'd put this up already, so forgive me if I posted it twice without realizing. Although I did wait a whole day to check, you know?

Guess the characters. The first is obvious, I think...

I do not own.
