Alone Again
Obi-Wan sighed. He seemed to be doing that a lot now. Now that his master was gone his lonely life had gotten a little bit lonelier. Oh how he wished his master was here to lecture him on how to do a barrel roll! He still hadn't figured out flying. His master had left so much behind! So many questions! So much confusion…
Obi-Wan was meditating in his room, as he did so much these days. He could still remember Qui-Gon telling him to meditate more and be mindful of the living force. Obi-Wan had felt annoyed then, but he would do anything to have his master lecturing him now!
Obi-Wan could feel his self entering a higher phase of being. He had found himself reaching that stage in his meditations more often. The world around him shimmered and changed. Obi-Wan was confused. This had never happened before! Then he recognized the area. He was on Naboo, in Theeds massive power generator. And beside him was the sith that had killed his master. The thing ignored him. Obi-Wan reached for his lightsaber, then noticed that he was a glimmering blue. He must be a force ghost! He had heard of them before; he had also heard that it was possible to relive moments in the past as one if you meditated hard enough. Then he saw his master.
Qui-Gon looked calm, but happy. Obi-Wan cried out as he ran toward his master. Qui-Gon accepted the hug Obi-Wan gave him, a small smile playing across his lips.
"Why are we here master?" Obi-Wan asked. Sure enough, the doors were slowly opening. Qui-Gon just looked at Obi-Wan with raised eyebrows. Obi-Wan blushed. The two stood in silence as the duel began. Qui-Gon pointed out everything Obi-Wan had done perfectly. He wanted to check on Obi-Wan when he got kicked over the edge. At the laser doors, Qui-Gon explained how he had used the force to open the laser doors. Just before the sith could stab Qui-Gon again, the scene changed. Obi-Wan looked around. They were in some sort of hangar on a starship. Two people were dueling, one of them in a funky black suit, and the other an old man with Jedi robes and a long white beard. The funky black suit swung his lightsaber and killed the old dude. There were some screams, then a ship took off and entered hyperspace. Then they were back at Obi-Wans room.
"Do you think we saw the future?" Obi-Wan asked. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gons ghost took one look at each other and burst out laughing.
Later on Obi-Wans old man brain wouldn't remember the encounter. He only remembered it upon entering the Force and seeing his old master.
The moral of the story: Never forget seeing old people dueling guys in funky black suits.
