Flight One: Unknown Girl
"Where….am I?" a pale, fragile looking girl asked as she laid in a pool of blood, slowly opening her dark gray eyes.
"You're in a church," a deep male's voice said as the world slowly came into focus for the girl.
She saw a tall man standing over her, wearing a black coat with a gold emblem on it. A black hat was seated on top of his long, messy red hair. Half of a joker's mask covered the right side of his face as he stared down at her. The girl looked up at him with curiosity clear on her face.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"My name is Cross Marian," the man, Cross said.
"What are you?" she asked.
"I'm a General Exorcist working for an organization known as the Black Order." Cross said.
"What's an Exorcist?" the girl asked, tilting her head a bit.
"An Exorcist is a person that can use the power of Innocence to destroy Akuma." Cross explained.
"What's Innocence?" she asked.
"Innocence is basically like the endless fuel that helps Exorcist purify the Akuma." Cross explained further.
"What's an Akuma?" the girl asked.
"An Akuma is a living weapon that has a once living soul within it that can never escape. They will forever be trapped within the weapon, killing many innocent people against their will in order for the weapon to grow even stronger. That's why Exorcist exists, to help those trapped souls escape their hellish prison by destroying and purifying the Akuma." Cross said.
"That's nice of them," the girl said, looking towards the ceiling.
"Any more questions, kid?" Cross asked as he started to walk away from her.
"Just one," she said, not even trying to stop him from leaving.
"And what would that be?" Cross asked.
"Do you know who I am, Mr. Marian?" the girl asked, causing Cross to stop in his tracks.
He turned to look at her as she stared at the ceiling. He was silent for a moment or two before speaking again.
"You are a little girl that the Innocence I was sent to retrieve chose as its accommodator, or partner in other words. You lost your family due to an Akuma attack when you were younger and have been living on the streets when I met you. And your name is Yuna." he said.
"Yuna what?" the girl asked, finally sitting up and looking towards General Cross.
"Yuna Koumori," Cross said, going over to her and extended his hand toward her. Yuna stared at it as he spoke again. "Let me teach you how to become an Exorcist. So that you can save the countless souls that are trapped within the Akuma."
Yuna continued to stare at his hand while staying still. After what seemed like an hour to Cross, Yuna finally looked up at him and stared at his face, bringing an earlier image into Cross's mind.
"How can I be sure that you are telling the truth, General Cross?" Yuna asked, innocently.
"If you become an Exorcist, you may find out if I'm telling you the truth or not." Cross said, taking a step towards her.
Yuna looked at his hand again before reaching out and taking it.
"If I find out that you were lying to me, I call dibs on killing you." Yuna said, firmly gripping Cross's hand.
Yuna Koumori roughly means power bat in Japanese.
