One Night Stand

A/N: This is just a little one shot that I did to help me with my writers block.

Nick was bored. There was only so much alone time a person could take. He thought about maybe seeing Kyrian, but quickly rejected the idea as he always did. He hadn't seen Kyrian once since returning to New Orleans. Visiting his old friend would only make more apparent the changes that had taken place since they had last seen each other.

He took another sip of his bourbon. He could maybe go see a movie, but then watching one alone in a crowd of couples on a Friday night would just irritate him, so scratch that.

Nick sat at end of the bar by himself, watching the other patrons. He'd noticed the three girls who'd enter. A conservative blond, a vibrant redhead, and a sweet faced brunette. All three very appealing in their own way, but they stuck out in the biker bar.

As he nursed his bourbon, he continued to watch them, especially the dark haired one. When she looked over at him, Nick knew he'd found a way to kill some time.

Jennifer was at her ropes end. She wanted excitement. Mystery. Danger. Seduction. Instead she was getting nice, polite dates with her latest boyfriend, Keith. Her parents loved him. He was wealthy, in all the right circles of friends, and a suck up to the influential like her father.

Jennifer needed more.

She talked a couple of her girlfriends into going to one of the bars in the French Quarter for some slumming. It wasn't the excitement she was looking for, but it might help take the edge off her restlessness to do something that her well-to-do parents would frown upon.

They were half way through their second round of margaritas when Mallory looked at Jennifer and gave a knowing smile. "Up at the bar. He's been checking you out for the past half hour."

Very casually Jennifer glanced to her left.

"Oh. My. God." Ashley whispered. "He's hot."

He was damn near perfect, and she couldn't look away.

"Wait, he has a tattoo on his face. Eww." Ashley said, going back to her drink with a dramatic sigh. "What a waist."

Jennifer didn't care, it added to the affect. She watched as his lips curved in a little half smile and he gave her a small nod. The tattoo seemed dangerous, like he was such a rebel that he didn't need to conform. The look on his face was nothing but seductive. And since she didn't know who he was, there was the mystery she was after.

He was exactly what she was looking for, all wrapped in a gorgeous package, and she wanted him. Consequences be damned. Her mind was made up, and she didn't want to give herself too much time to think about it.

Jennifer turned back around in her chair and fished out her money for her drinks. "Pay for mine before you leave."

Ashley and Mallory stared opened mouthed at her.

"What do you think your doing? What about Keith? You can't." Ashley whispered frantically, wide eyed.

Mallory laughed. "He is too good looking to pass up. I wish it were me he's been checking out."

Jennifer ignored Ashley and laughed nervously with Mallory. Mallory was the brave one, Jennifer was sure her friend would know exactly how to get what she wanted if their roles were reversed. Jennifer, however, didn't have a clue.

"Don't worry you look totally hot in that dress. Go for it." Mallory gave her a wink.

"I can't believe your encouraging her." Ashley scolded.

"Thanks." Jennifer replied to Mallory.

She got up and tried to emanate an air of confidence as she approached the man at the bar. She almost lost her nerve when she sat down on the stool next to him. He was even better up close.

"Hi." He said, little knowing smile in place.

She smiled a little in return. Seduction was never something she'd tried her hand at before, and so she felt like a fool for trying it now. "Hey."

"Can I buy you a drink?" He was already motioning the bartender over.

"Sure. I'll take a double shot of tequila." She was going to need something to keep her courage up.

The man let out a low whistle. "Double shot of tequila, huh?" His smile growing a little, eyebrow raised. She caught the light Cajun accent in his voice.

Jennifer didn't answer, just smiled again at him. She figured the less talking she did, the less likely she was to blow her chance with this guy.

"My names Nick by the way and you are?" He offered his hand.

"Jennifer." She put her smaller hand in his, and instead of a hand shake, he gave her knuckles a light kiss.

"Well Jennifer, it's very nice to meet you." He murmured.

The shot was placed in front of her and she quickly threw it back. It burned all the way down, but she felt proud that she managed to keep a straight face. When she was sure she wouldn't cough she looked up at Nick and then before she gave herself the chance to chicken out, she plainly asked him what she wanted. "You want to get out of here?"

Nick smiled again, and while it was charming it had an edge of bitterness to it. "I'd love just that."

"Your place?" She asked. Trying not to grin like an idiot, because she couldn't believe a man that good looking had said yes to her.

"Sure, cher." He dug out his wallet and threw down some bills on the bar as she slipped off her stool. He offered his arm and led her to the exit.

Jennifer savored the moment of walking with a gorgeous man, excitedly anticipating what was to come, and knowing that she was going to cherish this rebellion for the rest of her life.
