Momoko Ito was unlike most 16 year olds. She had silver grey hair that shined in the sunlight. She had a pair of blood red eyes that pierce through the night. Her nails were painted a dark sky blue to match her silver and blue dress she wore for school. Another unique item she obtained was a black star necklace that was said to be a mortal's worst nightmare after dark.
Momo, as she preferred to be called, was different. She had a power that most students her age didn't contain. She was a demon. She couldn't go inside churches and hated iron and salt. Along with this gift, she could one day control fire.
Momo hadn't completely finished growing yet. Her powers could grow like her body. Her sisters before her all were able to wield some power; water, wind, earth, lighting, plants, and emotions. She would either remain a demon with no special power or obtain one.
Momo was starting her first year at a preparatory school called Yokosuka High School. She was a first year there. As she walked up the marble stairs of the school, she felt someone tapping on her shoulders. She turned around with a gloomy, sullen look on her face and asked "What is it?"
Before her stood a tall boy with black hair and red highlights. He had dark sags under his eyes. He wore red eye make-up that matched his hair. Momo stared into his smoky black eyes. "Are you Momoko Ito?" she nodded.
He pulled out a packet and handed it to her. "Umm…thanks." She muttered but he had already left. She ripped open the packet. Inside was a letter and map of the campus. She looked at the letter. The letters DCC was written on the front. She ripped it open with her teeth. The letter read:
Dear Momoko,
Welcome to Yokosuka High School. We have heard word that you have a special ability, more unique than mortals. Please visit the DCC, or the Devious Creature Club, to discuss your abilities further.
Thank you,
The DCC.
Momo read the letter over and over again. Where did she meet them? How did they know? She looked back at the boy. He was laughing as he walked away. She realized now that he had a cat tail sprouting from his behind. Most mortals would be confused at this sight, but this was normal for her. She knew him in an instant. His name was Kyoya Yakama. He was a hybrid cat mix. Her father had told her about his family before. He looked back with orange cat ears sprouting on his head and smiled.
Momo flashed a smiled and turned around. She followed the map to her first class, which was history. She groaned to herself. She hated history! She walked down the empty, marble corridors, with her map pressed against her face in concentration.
"Hello there. Looking for the history room?" asked a deep voice in front of her. She had knocked into him and dropped her books.
In front of her was a boy with medium-long brown hair. He was wearing an all back suit. She realized he was a 3rd year. He bent down and picked up her books.
"Hello. My name is Edward. I'm an English exchange student. What's your name?" he asked. As he leaned forward to hand her the books, she saw that he was about six feet tall. He had a look of stubbornness on his face.
Momo tried to speak but she was ah-struck. "I...umm…my…na-…Mo…It…o..." was all she managed.
"Oh! You're Momo Ito? They told me you were pretty." He said with a smiled. She nearly fainted. She noticed a cross necklace on his neck. Momo stared at it evilly.
"What? Oh. Are you not Catholic? Hmm. Well, I see you're headed to DCC. May I lead the way?" he asked, and she nodded. She knew she had history, but it could wait.
He walked her into a dark room.
"What's---" she begin, but candles suddenly flickered. In front of her were six cloaked figures. One of them was obviously Kyoya. Others smiled slyly behind their cloaks.
"Why, Hello there. Welcome to the DCC." Said the tallest figure.
"What is your name?" asked the shortest.
"Momoko Ito."
"Ah. Welcome, Momo. Please, take a seat." The tall one pointed to a black leather chair.
"I-I can't. I have history to go to…" she gulped.
"I said, take a seat!" with a wave of his hand, the leather chair came flying into Momo and she fell down, landing in the chair.
"Oh...okay." she mumbled, terrified.
"The DCC is home to all the special students who attend this school. My name is Kairi Mochizuki. I am the head of this club. I can tamper with emotions and move objects."
"My name is Takashi Honokaa. My power is the ability to change the model of my skin from flesh to metal, or rubber, or flame, or ice, etc." said the next tallest one.
"My name is Maxwell Lee. I'm a vampire." said the shortest in a cheerful tone.
"I'm René Kasugai. I am a werewolf." a girl a little shorter than Momo replied.
"And I am Sae Ito. I am telepathic and I can read people's memories, sis." The last one was Momo's sister.
"Now you," spoke Kairi, "are the newest member of our club. We welcome you!"
They removed their hoods. Kairi had blonde hair and brown eyes, Takashi had long, black hair and green eyes, Maxwell had blonde hair and red eyes, René had brown and purple hair with hazel eyes, and Sae had black hair with purple eyes.
"Edward and Kyoya are also in the DCC. Edward is a Heaven Angel and Kyoya is a shape-shifter." smiled Takashi.
"Okay." She smiled.
"Now, sis, as the new member, you have to show us your stuff. You have two minutes to impress us. Carry on." Her sister whispered to Kairi and he moved a couple stage lights with his mind. Momo sat in silence thinking of what to do.
"You may begin." pointed Takashi.
Momo gulped. She walked up the brightly lighted stage and stared at them. She closed her eyes tight and imaged her home. She was a demon angel, sent from hell. She held to that memory of her creation. She opened her eyes and saw things in black and white. She ripped a pair of wings out of her skin. Horns burst from her scalp. The club gasped at her. She was a hell demon.
She closed her eyes and tightened her skin. The wings folded and the horns faded. When she opened her eyes, she saw colors again.
Kairi looked up and clapped. The rest joined in, except for Edward.
"Wow, Momo-chan! That was awesome!" laughed Max.
"Thanks." She mumbled and grinned.
Kairi, René and Sae talked in the corner quietly. Edward kept seated. Takashi and Max were chatting happily together.
"Well, hello, Momo. How's it like to be an angel?" asked a voice slyly.
She turned to see Kyoya smiling at her. She frowned.
"I'm not an angel! I'm a demon sent from hell, okay!?!" she replied bitterly.
"Okay! Okay! I was only joking! Look, I'll fix it. Here, you can pet my tail if you wanna?" he laughed.
"PERVERT!" she yelled. He laughed it off as she smacked him.
"Do you need help, Momo?" asked Takashi in his deep voice. She noticed that he put his hair back into a ponytail.
"No thanks."
"Momo-chan! I have a question! Can I bite you?" smiled Max.
"No!" she covered her neck with her arm.
"Don't worry. Demon blood doesn't hurt him and it replenishes itself, so it won't kill you." Smiled Takashi.
"Umm, okay…" mumbled Momo.
She pulled her silver hair out of the way. She titled her neck awkwardly for Max.
His eyes turned bloody red and he bite down hard on her neck. It hurt for a few seconds, but it was simply painless after a minute.
"That's good, Max." smiled Takashi.
Max pulled off and whipped his mouth.
"Thanks, Momo! I love you!" Max sang. She leaped back a step.
"Oh, he's only kidding. Besides, he's a year older than you anyway. So am I." smiled Takashi.
"We have come to an agreement. You will be a member of the DCC for now on!" smiled Kairi.
"Practice will begin tomorrow. We tell the teachers when the meetings are so don't worry." grinned Sae.
"Okay." Momo grinned back.
Edward, Kairi, Kyoya, and Takashi all laughed.
"Oh, Momo! You're so cute when you smile!" they said in unison.
"Well, I'll walk Momo to French class, since we are in the same grade!" smiled Kyoya.
"Okay. Bye!" she waved.
They walked outside and sat on a park bench.
"So, how did you become a demon angel?" he asked, staring into space.
"Well, I didn't become a demon angel, I am one. I was created in hell to be the first demon angel. The thing is, I'm not evil all the time. I part human, part angel, but I'm mainly part demon. I'm like a mutt!" she laughed.
"Oh, so is your enemy…like…Edward?" he asked.
She blushed a deep scarlet. She hadn't realized but Edward was her enemy.
Damn! She thought.
"I guess so. He is an angel after all."
"Yeah…well we have PE next. C'mon!" he ran out laughing.
"Wait for me!" she smiled, running after him.
They chased each other into the gym.
