I'm killing you silently
As I watch you there asleep.
Your breath is coming short and sharp
I know you're dreams are deep.
In this heavy silence
I can hear the lifetime leave.
I wonder if you hear it too,
Is it getting hard to breathe?
I hope your dreams are happy
And much brighter than what's here.
I know it tears you up inside
Though you won't show me your tears.
I hope that it comes quickly
So maybe you won't know
How much it's going to hurt me
When I finally see you go.
I still can't bear to stir you,
To pull you from your peace.
Though I feel each second's wasted
The more I let you sleep.
My heart breaks in this darkness
You're the only light I see
So I'll stay here beside you
And I'll kill you silently.
