As Harry got
into his Uncle Vernon's car, Hermione smiled faintly before turning back to face
Ron. He'd obviously been staring at her and flushed when she look him in the
eyes.
"Hermione,
listen," he started, flushing and even darker shade of red. "I'm
really sorry about the whole Krum thing and..."
"Don't
worry about it," She cut him off. Hermione smiled kindly at him.
"Er, if
Harry does come to the Burrow this summer, d'you reckon..." Ron trailed
off. Hermione looked at him confused.
"Reckon
what?"
"D'you
reckon your parents would let you come too?" He finished.
"I don't
know." Now it was Hermione's turn to blush. "I'd have to ask."
"Right." Ron nodded. "Well then, I'll see you sometime this
summer?"
"I hope
so," Hermione grinned shyly at him. Ron grinned back.
"Good.
Well, um, I'd best be going. I reckon mum'll blow a gasket if I don't head over
right now."
"I've got
to go too. See you soon then?" Without thinking, Hermione leaned over and
hugged him. Unconciously Ron squeezed her back. Hermione pulled away and placed
a soft quick kiss on his cheek. She blushed noticebly before waving goodbye to
Ginny and the other Weasleys. She grabbed her trunk and raced off towards her
parents. Ron lifted his hand and traced the area where Hermione had kissed him.
"Has Ickle
Ronniekins got himself a girlfriend?" George teased quietly.
"Bugger
off!" Ron's ears turned a brilliant shade of purple. As the Weasley's head
for their taxis, Ron chanced a look back and Hermione. She was just getting into
her parent's car when she suddenly turned back and waved.
Ron grinned
widely and waved back. Her words echoed in his head.
"I hope so."
