Painful love
Kai sat in a chair in his hotel room, a small velvet box in one hand and a picture in the other. Every now and then he would move his thumb over it as if he was really touching her cheek.
The girl was his first and only love. She was in Japan, probably at work by now as there was six hours difference between Tokyo and Moscow.
He wanted to be back home with her but at the moment he was too busy. A break from work was definitely in order.
He moved to his bed and lay on it, kicking his shoes off first and putting his hands behind his head looking at the ceiling. As he drifted off to sleep his head was filled with her face, smell and touch. How he longed to be nearher again.
And tomorrow he would be. He thought, finally giving in to sleep.
The next day he got off of the plane at Tokyo Airport and looked around. She wasn't there.
'Where is that girl?' he growled to himself. 'Makes things harder for me.'
Seeing his chauffer, he walked up to him and motioned for him to proceed him to the car, taking the time to look for her.
'Kai!.' Came a female shout and his head turned quickly in her direction, recognising her voice anywhere.
Without thinking of his surroundings he dropped to one knee, making his chauffer and everyone else stare. He pulled the velvet box out of his jacket pocket and opened it as she reached him.
'I love you.' He said simply. 'I love you so much that when we're apart its painful even if we're only a few minutes away from each other. So please, will you marry me?'
The girl looked at him and smiled. 'I love you too. Of course I will'
