So I had this idea to hopefully improve my stream of consciousness writing ability (which is currently non-existent) by setting myself the task of writing *something*, no matter how short, each day. Of course, this begged the question, where would the inspiration for these pieces come from.
Eventually I decided to hit two birds with one stone and work on improving my vocabulary at the same time. Thus I decided that each day I would use the Dictionary (dot) com 'Word of the Day' as my prompt.
Of course, I already find myself four days behind, but at least I'm trying, right?
The full range of work will wind up encompassing several different series (TMNT, Naruto, Inuyasha, Harry Potter, Various Comics/Cartoons, etc). Only Harry Potter pieces will be posted in this document. For the full range of work, please see my profile.

The inspiration for this drabble came from the latest excellent story from Lomonaaeren, "A Sound Like Serpents Singing," which reminded me how much I LOVE comfortable-with-his-parseltongue-Harry.

Draco stood in awe as he took in the site of his lover, surrounded by masses of hissing serpents. Not understanding their tongue, he was more than a little apprehensive as more and more snakes poured from the underbrush and trees of the Forbidden Forest, apparently drawn by the calls of their comrades.
A shaft of moonlight shown through the branches above, highlighting Harry as he bent closer to a particularly large snake that was talking to him. The two carried on a conversation, with the snake gesturing to several of the smaller, though similar appearing, snakes that writhed around them as they spoke. As the snake continued it's hissing, a small, delighted smile lit Harry's face, and Draco's breath caught in his chest. His skin pale and glowing in the moonlight, his hair a mop of shadows on his head, ruffling slightly in the night's cool breeze, and that simple, beautiful smile…Draco was hard pressed to recall a time when Harry look more entrancing…more magical.
Suddenly Harry looked up from the snake, and Draco was speared by eyes darkened to black by the darkness surrounding them. "Come, Draco," he called softly, raising his right hand to reach out towards his lover, "come meet Coatlicue [1]. She wants to introduce us to her children."
And Draco found himself powerless to refuse…

[1] = Coatlicue, whose name means "one with the skirt of serpents" is the Aztec goddess who gave birth to the Moon, the Stars, and Huitzilopochtli, the god of the sun and war.
