HSMFFC. This is a fanfic done for a challenge. This is my first fic on fanfiction and it's a Jelsi oneshot. It's very short though.
School was out for summer, and everyone at East High was ecstatic. One extremely hot day in June, the gang went to the beach. As usual, everyone seemed to pair off. Troy and Gabby were splashing around, Chad and Taylor were sitting in the sand, Sharpay was tanning, and Ryan was building enormous sandcastles. That left Jason and Kelsi awkwardly standing there.
"Hey Kels," Jason started.
"Yeah?"
"Um… do you wanna go get some ice cream?"
"Sure. That'd be great." Kelsi exclaimed trying to hide her excitement and nervousness at the same time. Without thinking, Jason grabbed Kelsi's hand as they started walking towards the small parlor located by the beach. He quickly pulled away as their eyes met for a brief second.
"Sorry," he nervously laughed.
"It's fine," she replied. The rest of their walk was silent except for when they ordered their ice cream. As they walked back, cones in hand, Jason finally worked up the nerve to ask Kelsi out.
"Hey Kels, could I ask you something?"
"Sure," As she turned to face him, he noticed she had gotten ice cream on her nose. He hesitantly wiped it away with his thumb and rested his left hand on the side of her face. Their eyes locked as they both leaned in closer and closer. Their lips met in a slow and sweet kiss. It only lasted a couple seconds but it left Jason and Kelsi speechless. A grin appeared on Kelsi's face.
"Isn't there something you wanted to ask me?" she whispered aware of how close their faces still were.
"um… will-will you go out with me sometime?" Jason replied just as quiet. Kelsi leaned in again and kissed Jason again but this time with a little more passion.
"Does that answer your question?" Jason could only nod in response. They just stood there taking in what happened before Jason spoke again.
"We should probably get back to the others."
"Yeah," Kelsi and Jason walked back to the beach, hand in hand. They were probably both thinking the same thing, "That did not just happen." It definitely was going to be an interesting summer.
