A Morning Conversation
It was the first morning of Albus's fourth summer holiday.
He had just finished his breakfast. Looking around, he saw his dad reading the Daily Prophet on the sofa. His mom was loudly cleaning the kitchen while James and Lily were focusing on some new magic tricks from Uncle Fred and Uncle George.
That was the best time. Though only one day had past, he couldn't wait any longer. As he knew the other three would not notice him if he talked to his dad for just a few minutes, he decided to ask him a couple of questions. Some serious ones.
"Dad," Al walked and sat opposite his father. "May I ask you a question?"
"Sure." Harry, as if in awe, closed the newspaper and raised his head for he'd never heard Albus ask a question in such a far-too-polite way.
"Well," Al moved his eyes away when his father turned to him. "Do you remember Uncle Ron's words four years ago when Rose and I was about to get on the Hogwarts Express for the first time?"
There was silence for a while then Harry gave him a gesture to go on.
"He said if Rose married a pureblood, Granddad would never forgive her…" Slowly Al recalled the words of his uncle.
"You know you aren't a pureblood," Harry replied, amused.
"No, I mean, we have the same grandpa!" Seeing his dad raise his eyebrows, Al continued, "So what will happen if I get married to a pureblood?"
"And a Slytherin?" added Harry quickly.
"Why! How do you know?" Al seemed shocked. He'd been prepared for his dad's astonishment, but now it was him who got the feeling when the man on his opposite was so calm.
"I just know." Harry smiled.
"But, but I've never mentioned it!"
"You know I'm not a very strict father, but I happen to know one."
He meant Draco. In fact, the latter kept in touch with him since last Christmas because he found out his son Scorpius was mattered with Albus Severus, a Potter. It took Draco some hours to interrogate Scorp, and finally, the boy admitted to his relationship?
"He never told me about it! And what's going on then? Did Mr. Malfoy…punish him for hanging out with me?" Al was worried about Scorp now. He was told at the beginning of their relationship that his lover's father would never allow it – he even warned Scorp not to be related with a Potter.
"No. Of course not. Or you couldn't sit there safely," nodded Harry to Al. He was sure about it because of some reason that he could not tell his son.
"Oh, that's good. So can I ask one last question?" Albus asked Harry eagerly. Now he believed there was no doubt that he could have the best summer ever.
"Of course."
"What if I invite Scorp home to spend the summer?"
"Um, why not?" Harry was considering something. "And what about inviting his father at the same time?"
