Harry sat starring into the fireplace too scared to close his eyes or even blink because if he did, he would see it. Images of the woman he's loved since he was sixteen and the man he shared a room with for seven years.

Ginny shudders as the dark man kisses her shoulder.

Harry shakes himself awake and starts to prowl around the room he was stupid he hadn't actually seen anything that would cause his fears to be true. It was all because of those looks and those touches that passed between the two at the ministry Christmas party four months ago. But they are old friends, old lovers, maybe Harry was just being jealous.

Dean unzips Ginny's dress letting it fall to the ground. He wraps his arms around her waist and rests his head against her shoulder as she closes her eyes against his chest. Hands start to wander, lips start to attach and sounds of pleasure fill the room.

He told himself again that he was just being paranoid, that there was nothing between them. But then he remembers something Hermione had said 'when someone cheats, the partner is always the first to know'. That's when he realised, he doesn't need to see it for himself, he already knew.

As Ginny dresses herself again Dean gives her one last kiss whispering 'don't forget me, don't forget me when you're with him'. 'Never' she replies before walking out of the small apartment to an apparition point just a few streets down.

Harry tries to fall asleep before she gets home, he really does. But his imagination just continues to work on over-drive. He hears the front door open and Ginny calling gently for him, but he ignores her. He can't face her, not when he knows full well that she wasn't at a harpies training not after knowing of her betrayal. He feels here crawl into bed with him and he feels sick, he forces himself to stay still until he hears the unmistakable sounds of her asleep before he rises.

Harry went to the cupboard and pulled out a fully packed overnight bag that he leaves there for emergency stakeouts or conferences that he must attend for the ministry. He writes a note and leaves it on the kitchen table. Before leaving the house that he and Ginny had shared for three years he goes back into the bedroom and removes the glamour she placed upon herself. There staring at him are the marks he left, the proof of her betrayal and the key to breaking the last bit of Harry's heart still in tact.

A/N this is the first chapter of a short fic that has landed itself in my head. The chapters are named after the songs in which inspired it.
