Jade stood on the edge of the cliff looking down at the raging water below. Tears made her makeup run and she wished it would rain so they would be hidden. She was a heart breaker. Two people were hurt because of her. She loved them both and couldn't bring herself to choose. She just wanted to end it all. If she couldn't be happy why should anyone.

I don't want to waste your time

-flashback-

Jade was at the back of the party making out with Beck. She didn't see Cat walk in. She didn't see the shock on her face. The disappointment. All she saw was Cat's retreating form. 'Cat. Cat, where you going,' she asked as she followed after her. Cat stopped just outside of Tori's door.

'I thought it was over. That's what you told me.'

'Cat,' Jade said feeling guilty.

'I can't do this anymore Jade. I can't pretend it doesn't hurt me to see you with him.'

I think...it would be better

If you left me alone

I've got a reputation

For breaking hearts

'Cat I'm sorry.'

'You sound like a broken record.'

'I don't,' Jade started.

'Want to hurt him,' Cat finished. 'You're hurting me. You're hurting us.'

'Cat I love you.'

'Your actions say otherwise.'

'Cat, I'm not ready.'

'Then why lead me on? Why tell me it was over between you and Beck when you knew it wasn't.'

Jade couldn't answer her. She had told so many lies and made so many excuses before.

'Why kiss me back? Why steal kisses and looks? I told you from the beginning what I felt. Why play games with my heart,' Cat asked.

'Cat,' Jade managed weakly. She knew her friend, her lover was at the breaking point.

'I'm tired of hiding our relationship in the shadows. It needs to be in the sun where it can flourish and grow.'

'Oh, there you are,' Beck said as he stepped outside. He noticed Cat crying and Jade's mood. 'Everything ok?'

'We're fine. I'll be in soon. Give us a minute,' Jade said.

'Tell him.'

'Cat!'

'Tell me what?' Beck looked at the two girls but they only avoided his eye contact and said nothing. 'What's going on?'

'Nothing. Look, I'll be right insi- . . ,' her sentence died upon Cat's lips. Jade lost herself in the kiss. Cat pulled away and Jade was stunned. She had never told Beck she liked girls and he just witnessed her making out with Cat.

'What's going on?'

'Beck, just give me a second to explain.'

'Explain what? That you're a lesbian.'

That word stung her more than anything he could have said. It was like the wind got knocked out of her. She didn't answer. She was looking at Cat who was smiling being her tears having revealed their affair. Jade felt as though the walls were closing in around her. She took off running into the night.

'Jade!,' Beck called after her as he watched her go.

Footsteps brought Jade back from the edge. She turned around. 'How'd you know I'd be here?'

'I know you. We're you really going to jump?'

'No. I just needed to fall to see who would catch me. I'm sorry. Can we go somewhere and start over?'

'Let's just stay here. I like the view.'

I don't want to waste your time
