"Tugger?"

The worried Maine Coon Tom looked up from the ground. He jumped to his feet.

"Is she…"

Jennyanydots smiled. "Bomba's fine. Come meet your daughters."

Tugger slowly stepped into the slightly stuffy den. His mate, Bombalurina, lay holding two small kits. She smiled up at him, her blue eyes shining.

"I'm a mom," she whispered.

Tugger grinned softly. "And I'm a dad."

"Do you want to hold them?"

Tugger nodded. Jenny handed him one of the kits. She had inherited her mother's dark red fur color, and her wrists, ankles and waist were speckled with his own leopard spots. A small curl hung in her face from her headfur, just like Tugger. He gave her a kiss on the forehead. She mewed softly.

He exchanged her for the other kit. She was warm gold, her arms and ankles covered in black leopard spots as well. She had a white chest, and some red stripes through her headfur. He snuggled against her. She mewed in protest. He chuckled.

"What are we going to name them?"

"You name one, and I'll name on," Tugger replied smiling at his scarlet queen.

Bomba held up the red one. "Her name's Garnet."

Tugger nodded in approval. "And the gold one's Alura."

Bomba smiled from ear to ear. "I love that name."
