Okay, so here's my first FF EVER! Finally finished one^^

But I have to say English is not my first language so please forgive me any grammar or spelling mistakes.

Inspiration for this fic was the Song 'Stay' by Hurts. Used a few lines from that song, too.

So neither the song nor the characters I used belong to me (sadly).

Stay

It was days like this one when she wished she could rip her heart out and never feel was days like this one when her world would stop turning and she wished she could turn back time and make everyting alright.

But she couldn't. And it killed her inside.

He was supposed to always be there when she needed him. Forever. But forever was gone. Gone in the blink of an eye. So much lost in such short time. Days of laughter, happiness and peace, destroyed be her own fear.

So here she was, standing on the north tower wondering about what she had done wrong in life. Everything she'd done had always ended in tears and anger, aching hearts and loneliness. What had she done wrong?

„You shouldn't be out here." The quiet voice startled her at first but she didn't move. Not even as she felt something warm being put around her. „It's pouring, Helen."

She looked up and felt raindrops trickling her face, she didn't care. „Is it? Really, you should leave before you get soaked, too, Nikola."

„Not as long as you don't tell me what's wrong. And don't pretend it's nothing."

She turned towards him. Anger visible on her face. „You want to know what's wrong?", she asked a bit louder than necessary. „Everything! Ashley is dead, John has gone off killing people again and now..." she took a deep breath and lowerded her voice again, almost whispering the last part. „...now you're mortal. I lost everything I cared about in what seemed like seconds. I have nothing left." A small tear escaped her eye, barely seen in the rain, followed by a desperate sigh. „Nothing."

Seeing her so lost and hurt tore at his heart. He took one step towards her and cradeled her in his arms, softly stroking her hair while whispering comforting words. „You haven't lost everything. The Sanctuary, your lives work, it's still here. And your friends will help you if you let them in. I want to help you. Even if it's not forever anymore."

„This is Oxford all over again, isn't it? That's why you came up here, to tell me you have to leave again." she said while resting her head on his chest and holding him close.

We say goodbye in the pouring rain
And I break down as you walk away
