Chapter 1
He's been alone all his 23 years of life. He's never depended on anyone for help and fought everyday to live. To this day, his inner battle hasn't ended and he still tries to find himself but that search could soon be over.
"You know, I think it's time you got yourself out of this town. Go explore new places and maybe you'll find something… anything that can help you find yourself." Words of wisdom came out of the Barry, the owner of Barry's Diner. He was the only one that has always helped him out.
"I don't know Barry. I think my place is here… in this small town. Nothing happens here and I'd rather live in silence." He responded almost giving up on his life.
"Now don't talk like that boy! I won't have that here! You need to step up and taste what life's like. I've been living here all my life and I regret it. Don't make the same mistake I did." Barry infuriated starts to drink a glass of beer.
"My parents died because they left! They left me here alone… I should've died with them! But I didn't because… Barry I understand what you're saying but I can't leave…I just can't." He washes his words away with a quick sip of beer and rushes out the door.
He walks quickly away from the diner and heads in the usual direction, nowhere. Thoughts rushing through his head and he almost chokes on his thoughts. He walks around town until he finds a good spot to rest. He can't understand why his parents left him and growing up he had to go on rumors that the towns spread to even know his parents name…to even know his own name. Suddenly, his thoughts start to slow down and he finally realizes something. His name…. he stands up and walks toward the center of town.
"Everyone listen up! My name….my name is Cairo."
