Don't Shoot the Messenger by Luvscharlie
"Rose, how long are you going to give me the silent treatment?"
Rose turned toward her cousin. "Al, would you mind telling the pillock who is blocking my way that I have nothing to say to him?"
"Oi, Malfoy. Rosie says—"
"I can hear her, thank you very much," Scorpius sniped. "Come on Rose. This has been going on plenty long enough. You didn't see what you think you saw."
"I'm quite certain that I am bright enough to recognise when my boyfriend's lips are connected to some other bird's it means that he's kissing her. Pass that along, would you, Albie?"
"Rosie saw you kissing Tu-lips Parkinson," Al said, laughing at his own play on words.
"Yes, you idiot. I'm not deaf. I can hear her just fine. She kissed me. I was just sort of standing there shocked. Tell her that."
"Rosie, the big, bad Slytherin girl apparently forced herself upon your boyfriend." Al chuckled and looked back at Scorpius. "Man, even I'm not buying that one. Is that the best you can come up with?"
"Al, would you please tell he-who-I-once-locked-lips-with-but-shall-not-do-so-again that I think it is only fair that for every second his lips touched that nasty bird's—"
"Rosie, come on. Don't be that way."
"Al, would you please inform him that I am not speaking to him. And that when I am speaking to him, I do not appreciate interruptions."
"Man, Rosie does not like to be interrupted. Reckoned, you'd know that by now. What was the other thing, Rosie?"
"That I do not wish to speak with—"
Scorpius, who had maintained control of his temper thus far, lost it. He raged at Al. "I can hear her perfectly fine, you moron. Will you please, for the love of Merlin, shut your gob and go about your business so I can try and repair things with my girlfriend?"
Al splayed his hands wide. "Sheesh! I reckon there's no need to go shooting the messenger. Figures that you'd be the type." Al turned toward Rosie. "It appears that Mr. Stick-up-his-arse wants me to leave. I'll see you in class, Cousin." He leaned in and whispered as he walked away. "Give him hell. I'll expect full details later, so do me proud."
As Al's footsteps retreated, Scorpius leaned closer. "Now can we talk?"
Rose scowled as she noticed the pink tinge around his mouth. "Perhaps after you remove the lipstick from your face, since personally, I don't think it's your best colour."
She walked away in a snit, and Scorpius cursed birds in general.
A/N: This was originally written for a "100 Word Alphabet Meme" on Live Journal where drcjsnider requested Scorpius/Rose with a prompt of A is for Anger. The drabble must be 100 words exactly and I broke my own rule and went way over 100 words.
