Regret
AN: Well, I wouldn't consider this a story since I see no plot.
WARNING: It has quite a few spoilers from the manga, so if you only watch the anime and you don't like being spoiled don't read this; or if you are behind in the manga. Oh, and I apologize in advance if there are any grammatical or spelling mistakes.
What had done in his past life to result in an after-life such as this one? Couldn't he have been born into a normal life such as this one? Couldn't he have been in a normal shinobi family? Heck, a normal family, where his family were normal citizens, would have been enough.
He just had to be born into the Uchiha Clan, one of the most prestigious and powerful families in the Land of Fire, dating back to the beginning of the village he originally belonged to. Originally. He deserted it for power. Power to kill his brother; and he gained that power. His wish was satisfied. But he wasn't happy at all. Not in the least. Not after the truth was revealed to him about Itachi's past turmoil, where every option his brother had was life-changing and the decision that was made could result in many deaths. Both options his brother had would result in the death of many. His brother just took the option with the least amount of deaths, even though it meant killing his own kin.
He definitely wasn't satisfied with his brother's death. The reason? There was not point to it. His brother was forced. Forced by the higher-ups of Konoha. Only if he knew his brother's true motives behind the Uchiha massacre; only if he had known how much his brother cared for him.
It was too late now, too late to regret his actions. Itachi was dead, and he couldn't a thing about it. As much as he regretted it, there was nothing that could possibly be done about it. Regret couldn't bring Itachi back from the dead. 'If only it could,' Sasuke thought.
How much he wished it could, how much he wished he could bring his brother back.
Sasuke stood up from his perched position on the tree branch and stared into the setting sun, despair and regret in his eyes. The sun's light shone into his eyes, causing the tears in his eyes, which threatened to fall, glisten like diamonds or precious stones in the light. He couldn't be like this. He couldn't be in this weakened state in such a crucial point in his life, where every option he chose could have drastic results.
Sasuke sighed and jumped down from the branch he was standing on, landing gracefully onto the luscious green grass. Walking back to the Akatsuki headquarters, he only had one objective in his mind:
To bring around the destruction of Konohagakure
AN: Extremely short one-shot; inspired by chapter 402. Leave a review please? I'm in need of constructive criticism. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it.
