ABC - Chad's phone call.
This popped in my head while I was trying to go to sleep and I didn't want it to go to waste.
Ryan...
It's Chad. I know you're there. You're not picking up because you're mad at me and I get that. I'm not going to beg you to pick up. Just, please listen. You're probably holding a razor or a knife to your wrists or have a bottle of pills beside you. Just don't do anything...just don't do anything.
You're probably thinking right now 'Why should I listen? He probably almost said stupid' If you thought that, please keep listening. Yes, I was going to say that. But I though about it for a second. That title belongs to me right now. And no, I'm not being selfish. I'm stupid, okay? Which is why I'm not pounding at your door right now. I'm not begging for you back cause I know if I got you back, I wouldn't learn anything. I wouldn't change and we'd be stuck in a circle you'd get so tired of I wouldn't be able to stop you from doing whatever you're doing now then.I'm not smart, Ryan. Alright? I'll say it again. I'm the dumbest kid in America. Ask Troy, ask Taylor, ask ANYBODY, how I'm graduating is anybody's guess. How I even got past Pre-K is an even bigger guess.
The only reason I'm calling Ryan is to ask that you don't kill yourself. Okay? Just...don't. You don't have to come back to me, but just stay alive. Please. You can transfer, you can move to New York. Just live.
If I can see you everyday, I'll be happy. But even if I can only hear Sharpay go on and on about how you're the best on Broadway, I'll be smiling. As long as I know you're alive.
I'm addicted to you, Ryan. Saying your name is intoxicating.Hearing your name will give me a high. I'm surprised I never passed out in our kisses. Taht's why I need you alive, okay? Please.
If you've listened to me, I'm so grateful. You could fit the hope diamond in my thanks. It might not mean much, but I love you. I hope I can hear your name tomorrow and not in the obituaries.
I guess I'll leave you alone not. But I'll say this. I need my Ryan.
Bye.
This phone call was all that Ryan needed to untie to rope that hung from the cieling, step off the his dresser, and go on living.
