Drabble:
Of
course living alone in Haven City was terrifying; Keira was forced to
worry about her own safety every single day, even when she was
encased in the walls of her own home. There was always a chance that
at any moment, the Krimson Guard would come, knock down her door,
beat her senseless, and then throw her in jail without ever giving
her a reason why. The thing that made it even more nerve-wracking
though, was that the mechanic knew that if what she was working on
were to be discovered, that very thing was extremely likely to
happen.
But the project that she kept hidden behind the curtain in her garage was much too important to let a little fear get in the way of its progress. Keira didn't have much in this despicable city built on rust and rubbish, but she did have hope; the hope that someday she would be reunited with those she loved and be able to get out of here, back to the small village by the sea that she called home.
So even though her project could get her killed, she was willing to risk her life to complete it; the resilient girl would rather lose her life than her hope. Somehow, even in the face of all that uncertainty, she was certain that someday she would be able to set sail again and return to the warm sand of her beaches and cozy rooms of the hut she shared with her father. Until then, she would face every new swell and storm that Haven hit her with and battle through the waves with all her strength, because she knew that she would never give up her life or her hope.
