All he could remember was the screaming, and watching her back as the door slammed shut behind her...

Percy awoke with a start. He had been having this dream more often lately, and he hated it. Hated the very thought of her being gone.

But she had been gone for years now. Four to be exact. Percy almost felt as though he could say the the exact moment when she walked out the door, the last time he saw her.

Well, not exactly.

See, Annabeth had been studying music. He had had no idea she could sing until she joined the choir at Goode, and from their things just took off. Now, she was pretty famous. Like, not Justin Bieber famous, but still pretty famous.

He dreaded it too. Seeing every little thing that went on in her life. He guessed it may have just been the fact that she was moving on, whereas he still couldn't look at another girl.

He was twenty-two now.

He hadn't been to camp since then. He knew she still went when she could, but that's all anyone would tell him. He was glad though, having solid friends to keep him going. (somewhat).

He stumbed into the kitchen, pulling clothes on as he went.

After realizing he REALLY needed to go gracery shopping, he decided to crash hid Mom's place for breakfast. Besides, he owed her a visit.

Once arriving a while later, he was pleased to find hid mother had made blue waffles.

"How are you Percy?" His mother asked with a slight hint of concern.

"I'm fine. Just as I always am."

"Have you-"

"No Mom." Her constant insistence about his lack of a love life bothered him to no end.

"Percy..."

"Just forget it." He stood up and walked impatiently toward the bathroom.

He could hear his mother talking woth Paul.

"I don't know what to do anymore. He's got to move on. She isn't coming back."

"Yeah, but he really gave everything he had to her."

"I guess.."

He decided it was time to intercept on this side conversation.

"I have to go." he said as he grabbed his keys and coat from knob by the door. "I have to work." This was a lie, and she knew it too, but she didn't stop him.

He was walking around downtown when he saw her music video playing on the huge flatscreen outside of the MTV building.

"...I used to think one day we'd tell the story of us,
How we met
And the sparks flew instantly
And people would say they're the lucky ones

I used to know my place was a spot next to you,
Now I'm searching the room for an empty seat
Cause lately I don't even know what page you're on..."

The words echoed in his brain like a time boom, and his thoughts were abruptly interupted by the sound of his ringing phone.
