Birds chirped merrily as the humans below them walked between the trees. The male led the way, his flaming red hair likely to light the forest ablaze while behind him the female walked, an annoyed look on her face.
"Reno, where are we going?" Reno turned around and grinned at Tifa.
"It's a surprise Tifa." The Avalanche member crossed her arms and huffed.
"You've been saying that for the past hour! Just admit that you have no idea where you're going."
"Alright so maybe it's tough to get to but we'll find it pretty soon, I'm sure of it." Reno said. Tifa just sighed and walked after Reno that is until her right foot sunk in a patch of mud. Tifa stiffened as she felt the goopy stuff enter her shoe.
"You owe me a pair of shoes when we get back Re." Tifa said. Reno turned around and helped his girlfriend out of the mud.
"Okay Teef, that's only fair." Finally Tifa had had enough and pushed past Reno.
"I'll get us out of here I don't care how amazing this spot is it isn't worth getting lost and dirty." Tifa muttered. She walked forward and Reno gave a cry of warning but Tifa didn't heed it, which was why she suddenly found herself rolling down a hill. A few moments later she felt a pair of familiar arms wrap around her body. A hand pressed her head tightly to a warm chest.
Reno winced as the first boulder struck him but he endured the pain as he and Tifa continued their fall. A large boulder then appeared in his field of vision and Reno inwardly winced. The pain was immense and he blacked out soon after that.
Consciousness returned along with the dying sunlight. Tifa was looking down at him, worry etched into her pretty face. Once she saw his eyes open she hugged him tightly.
"Reno thank goodness you're alright."
"Are you okay babe?" Reno asked.
"I'm fine thanks to you." Tifa said, looking at the ground in shame. Reno sat up then and noticed where they were. A stream cut through a long grove of trees and beside them Reno saw flowers too numerous to count. He lifted Tifa's chin up and kissed her deep on the lips.
"Look's like you found the spot." Reno said, chuckling. Tifa looked around at the natural beauty surrounding them and returned her gaze to her lover.
"Re it's amazing!" She then hugged him tightly once more and Reno winced. Tifa broke away and sat him down on a nearby log.
"Not so tight, it really hurts with this in here." Reno said, removing a black velvet box. Tifa's eyes went wide as Reno got down to one knee. "Tifa, you're truly amazing. I love everything about you and I want to love you every day of your life. So will you marry me Tifa Lockhart?" He then opened the box and Tifa saw the gold banded diamond ring. She took the ring and placed it on her finger. Then she tackled Reno to the ground and started kissing him fiercely.
"Yes…I'll marry…you!" Tifa said in-between kisses. Once she was done, she stroked his cheek gently and smiled at him.
"So it was worth getting lost and dirty, right?" Reno asked. Tifa nodded. "Then I don't have to buy you some new shoes?" Tifa gave him a coy smile.
"Perhaps…" She whispered before kissing him once more.
