Disclaimer: As always these characters are J.K.Rowling's. No harm is intended no money is being made, I just like to play with them.
This trilogy of drabbles (each a 100 words in length) focuseson the impactthe deaths of the Potter's had on the life of Sirius Black.
'What have I done!'
A single tear shivered and escaped the corner of his soft grey eye, carving its way down his tortured face, as he stood in the centre of the decimated house. He peered down at the bundle cradled gently in his arms, his mind crying out, 'What have I done!' The blanket shifted, unveiling a tiny delicate face, reminding him so much of his best friend's, except those eyes, penetrating green. A dagger pierced his heart, tears escaping him, as those beautiful tear-stricken eyes sparkled up innocently at his own. In his arms, he held James and Lily's most precious gift.
He advanced on the treacherous rat. 'You killed them!' he raged silently, feeling his entire world collapsing, hatred and guilt coursing through his body. 'BANG!' A cloud of smoke overwhelmed him; petrified screams erupting; the earth shaking. 'God Peter, what have you done!' he choked, as the smoke cleared. His body slumped, relinquishing its hold on revenge, as he stared at the desecrated street, his desperate mind, blank. 'Murderer!' someone cried. Aurors appeared. 'Well done Peter!' he thought bitterly, releasing a false laugh. 'But I would have died rather than betray my friends, as I would have done for you.'
The icy door slammed shut behind his gaunt, haunted form; the bars clanging, imprisoning his tormented soul. He sank to the floor as a wave of emotion engulfed him, pressing his head to his hands, drawing his knees to his chest. The wind howled through the prison, piercing the desolate spot where he sat hunched, shivering, drowned in moonlight. His heart thundered against his ribs; tears bleeding from his eyes, cascading down his grief-stricken face. His stomach lurched involuntarily, as his worst fears, the loss of his friends, filled his screaming mind. 'Stop!' he thought desperately. 'Please, make it stop!'
