Better or Worse

By Kero

Mitsukake's song in my little let's-write-a-song-for-all-the-seishi-tee-hee-hee thing. Well, have fun. This is dedicated to the people who take the time to appreciate that Mitsukake IS, in fact, a seishi, and who know him a little better than as 'that one really tall guy'.

Sometimes we must do something
That literally breaks our heart
But will it makes us heal quicker
If we know that it helped somebody?

It may cause us pain
But at the same time relieve a loved one
Doesn't that make it better
Even though it still hurts?

I'm not so selfish
That I wouldn't do my duty
Just because I'm afraid
Of getting hurt
I'm going to do what I can
To end others pain
For who really decides
What's for better or worse?

If I know that you'd find peace
I'd put a dagger in my heart
If I know it would solve problems
I'd gladly endure pain

I may be able to heal your wounds
But I cannot heal your heart
Tell me how to help, and I promise
I will try to make it okay

Just tell me what's wrong
I'll find you the cure
Or else I may very well
Die trying
I'll be there 'til the end
Be it yours or mine
We'll let the heavens decide
What's for better or worse

I won't abandon you
Unless you ask it of me
Though it would hurt
I'd obey you, for you're who matters

Is it better to watch someone else hurt
Or to try to give them strength?

Is it worse to laugh at another's trials
Rather than help them through the tears?

Is it better to let another hurt
Or take the pain yourself?

Is it worse to sacrifice yourself
Or let someone die in your place?

Though we have instincts
We can only guess
Whether it's better or worse
Only a god
Truly has the right
To decide what's better or worse
