Don't Forget

Peter Pevensie walked along the crowded stairs down to the subway. He was supposed to be meeting his brother and sisters there on their way to head home. It appeared that Peter was the first one there. He sat his stuff by a bench wondering exactly how early he was.

His mind began to wonder to Narnia as it often had. It was a place that he felt at home. Much more than had in his home there in England. He wished he had never left. He was never treated like a child in Narnia, mostly because he had already grown there. He was a king and respected by all. It had been a year and they still hadn't gone back. Peter often looked at the everyday animals, hoping that they would talk. He didn't share these feelings with his siblings. He was the eldest and didn't want them to lose hope like he had.

Peter was beginning to think a little of Lucy was rubbing off on him. He would daydream about the times he had in Narnia and his grades were slipping because of it. Unlike Lucy however, he had been getting into a lot of fights. He wouldn't take being treated like a child and he wanted people to know that. At times he had even caught himself reaching for his sword that was still in Narnia. He missed it and wanted more than anything to go back.

Peter was so distracted by his own thoughts that he didn't notice a pair of boys walked towards him. One of them ran right into him, making him lose his balance momentarily. He looked back at the boys, angry when one of them spoke up.

"Aren't you going to apologize?" the tallest of the boys asked.

"What?" Peter replied.

"You bumped me?" the boy who ran into him said.

"Your the one who bumped me," said Peter.

"That's not how I saw it," the other boy replied. "Apologize."

"You want an apology?" Peter asked.

"That's right," the boy replied.

"How's this for an apology," said Peter, punching the boy and knocking him onto his back. The other boy hit him in the stomach and Peter began to retaliate. It wasn't long before their were groups of kids surrounding them and yelling. Peter caught a glimpse of Lucy running off just as one of the boys tackled him. He found himself, once again, wanting to reach for his sword, but noticing immediately that it was not there. He rolled onto his back, kicking one of the boys that was about to hit him. He was beginning to think it would be best to justs forget everything, but he could hear a small voice in his head telling him, Don't forget.
