The sun had begun to wander across the cerulean sky, picking its way through the fluffy clouds overhead. It was days like this that Mac could easily get lost in.

It had been three years since Harm finally got the courage to say the words she had been longing to hear ever since they met, and they were finally able to work through the eight years of baggage that they had accumulated. It had been a slow process, but one driven by a love so deep it was worth it.

It still amazed her how they both could admit their feelings after all that time, after everything that had happened between them. It also amazed her how much their love could deepen once intentions were stated. If she loved him before, which she most definitely did, her love was 10 times stronger now. Mac had only god to thank for that, and now as she sat on her porch in the bright sunlight she sent a prayer of thanks up to him.

Harm had once told her she made simple things complicated, and there was some truth to that statement. It hadn't been hard to get to this point once they both knew what they wanted, but the first step was the one it had taken them 9 years to take.

They had finally ended the dance, that waltz that seemed everlasting. Mac was glad. Her feet were starting to hurt, as was her heart.

The world was a beautiful place to her now as she sat here soaking up the day, relishing in the simplicity that her life now entailed. Physically no, her days were anything but simple. Little Harmon Jr and Georgia Rabb took up most of her time and energy, as did Mattie. But emotionally life couldn't get any better than it was at that very moment. And she was thankful for everything she had, including her tall handsome Navy sailor and her two wonderful children not to mention her now 18 year old adopted daughter Mattie.

After the first year of a relationship they both had decided it was time for her to gain joint custody of Mattie. She was a wonderful girl who treated Mac like the mother she never had the opportunity to have. And it was fun to have another girl in the house; one that was old enough to talk that is. And boy did Mattie ever have Harm wrapped around her finger, but after all she had been through she deserved it.

Mac was startled from her thoughts as the door opened, making way for Harm to come through. He smiled as he saw her, taking his proper place next to her on the porch swing. "Where are the kids?" she asked, her voice taking on an amused glint "I'm surprised you got away from them for a second." And she smiled as she thought of the state of chaos that the Rabb household was usually in.

" Mattie is getting Georgia and Harm ready. I think she is taking them to the Library with her"

"Poor librarians" Mac smiled "Well now that were both out here all alone, what do you suggest we do?"

"Oh Im sure we could think of something…" His tone grew suggestive yet playful as his arms were raised only to wrap around her snugly.

And they kissed, a long yet gentle kiss. Passionate yet soft at the same time.

"I love you Harmon Rabb"

"I love you Sarah Rabb"

And they were blessed.

I get kissed by the sun each morning
Put my feet on a hardwood floor
I get to hear my children laughing
Down the hall through the bedroom door
Sometimes I sit on my front porch swing
Just soaking up the day
I think to myself, I think to myself
This world is a beautiful place

I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones that love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed
