A/N: This poem tells Jessie's story in Toy Story 2, but not Toy Story 3, by the way. Jessie has a more central role in the second film than in the third from what I've heard.

Yodelin' Into Town

There once was a yodeling cowgirl,
With fame unlike any other toy,
Jessie the cowgirl she was,
Ready to play and ride the wild west,
As part of the phenomenon
Known to all as Woody's Roundup.

Coming into the hands of a little girl
Whose good name was Emily,
She played in the sunshine with her,
And rode her favorite horse toys,
Until she felt like she was alive,
Just like any other loved toy.

But years later the little girl grew up,
And she forgot all the good times
She had with Jessie, her favorite doll,
Until she found her under the bed,
Took her in her car to a big truck,
And gave her away to charity,
Leaving Jessie behind to wonder
Why such a nice kid would give up her.

So more years passed for the little cowgirl,
And she was carted from owner to owner,
Never staying in one place for long,
Until a short fat slob named Al
Who made big bucks off novelty toys
Found her in a common garage sale,
And took her to her ultimate destiny.

In the dark home of Al the toy collector,
She met with unexpected friends
In the form of a Stinky Prospector,
And a horse with the fawning love of a dog
Known to all as faithful Bullseye.
The Prospector promised the last member
Of Woody's Roundup would come someday,
And when that day came, they would all
Find a home in Tokyo, Japan.

So they waited and waited
For years and years,
Closed up in the darkness of a box,
Where Jessie could not stand
The conditions she was in.
She longed for the day when she
Could see the sunshine once again.

Finally, the big day arrived
When Sheriff Woody showed himself,
And Jessie was crazy with joy
To finally find a new friend
As well as her ticket to a new life.

Woody was amazed and awed
To see their famous memorabilia
Of Woody's Roundup and his heroism,
But he could not go to a museum,
Because of his owner Andy.
And this reminded Jessie of
The good times she once had with Emily,
And it filled her with sorrow and anger
That Woody would give up his fame and fortune
For a boy who would throw him away one day.

But then more toys showed up at the place,
A space man, piggy bank, Potato Head,
A springy dog and a green dinosaur,
And the space man named Buzz Lightyear
Convinced Woody to talk Jessie and the others
Into coming home to live with them and Andy.

But the turncoat Prospector would not
Hear of this happening, because
He was intent on reaching the museum,
And he would let nothing mess up his goal.

Then Al the toy collector returned,
And began to take them to Japan,
But Woody and his friends hatched a plan
To help them escape their undeserved fate.
The mean old Prospector lost his goal,
And just in the nick of little time,
Jessie and Bullseye were safe
From an unlovable future.

To Jessie's great relief and joy,
Andy loved her just as much
As any other toy he owned,
And christened her Bazooka Jane.
And she found new friends in Buzz,
Who had an interest in her,
And Andy's mother, the same Emily
Who once gave her up to charity.
The reunion was tearful, but blessed,
And at last Jessie forgave the race of children.

And she and her new friends
Would always stick together,
And face the challenges of life
To infinity and beyond!
