Pain seared through him as he was kicked, he felt himself propelled forward, making hard contact with the hard material on the bridge.
He had just mere seconds to prepare himself for death...
His foe was near, he could feel irritation coming off of him as he neared the prone man, and the man's own weapons were in his adversary's hands...
As stout growl came from his foe, the abrupt chiming of metal near his head caused him to snap his eyes open; they were wide as green pools as he blinked in utter confusion.
Mercy...he had been shown mercy...he had been given more years to his young life, Leonardo had spared him...though this was a duel to the death.
"You lose", those words slipped out of the turtle's moth like a rushing river, cold and powerful, making Ve feel helpless under the crossed blades.
This angered the young prince, "I cannot lose, I cannot!" He shouted as if this was a terrible dream coming upon him, he cried as if he hoped it would cause it to end.
"Sorry, you just did," those bitter words tumbled out of his foe's mouth as he motioned down to him icily. "But, you fought well". He spoke with a bow and then added, "Its okay," and gave a friendly wink.
NO! Ve screamed mostly to himself as he barely withheld those words from sliding through his lips, his heart beat wildly as blood rushed madly through his veins...HOW could he LOSE?
"I...I do not believe it!" Ve paused some, biting his lip in sheer aggravation, "I-I surrender". That last word had taken so much will to push out of his mouth...he was surrendering! His name as the Ultimate Ninja had been put to shame and laughter!
Leonardo, however, came over with a cheerful smile as he carefully extracted the swords from Ve's neck so they were no longer in a fatal, severing position.
The happy cheers of Leonardo's family and friends filled the air as Ve lay on his side, brooding darkly over his loss...
"He shall suffer", Ve muttered menacingly to himself as he stealthily pulled out a handful of green powder from his cloak...his light breath as all it took to transform it into a vicious beast...a dragon.
Roaring with great fury, the animal encircled his prey...he let himself smirk, perhaps he would win and be the Ultimate Ninja after all.
