Why?

Summery: Max reflects on Millie's kidnapping. Spoilers for "Smash And Grab". Takes place after they find Millie's jacket and the blood.
AN: This is my first fanfic so I apologise if it's a little short or just generally awful.
I should have listened to her. None of this would have happened if I had, Jade Hopkins and Millie wouldn't be missing and I wouldn't be sitting here wondering if I might be responsible for Millie being hurt or possibly dead. When I saw all that blood on the floor under her jacket I knew that everyone was thinking what I was thinking, "Is Millie dead?". All I could think when we found her that this was someone I wanted to be an important part of my life.
When we arrested Si I wanted to be the one to hold her instead of Rodger Valentine, even more then that I wanted to kiss and comfort her and show her my feelings. When I met her I thought she was a very attractive woman but perhaps a little naïve but after spending a little time together I knew she was perfect for me. Instead of just talking to her all I do is act superior and insult her even though I know she was listening.
When I asked her if she wanted to talk I wanted to take her out, flirt with her and try to approach her romantically, when she said no I admit I was disappointed but I understood that it was the best time and she needed time to get over what had happened to her but I know that one day we will be together, it doesn't matter how long I have to wait. I know she's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
