At the academy, she had been weak, and boy-crazy. So much different than the woman she had become, Genma mused. She had always been intelligent, but she had grown into clever. Something that only comes with age.
The soft beautiful color of her hair was deceiving. She was feminine, but fierce. She had supressed herself in her youth, and it had shown. Now she wasn't frightened to speak her mind. It was hard to imagine anything that could frighten this woman.
As selfish as it seemed, he was glad that the Uchiha left. After he had, she had grown into such a strong woman. The woman that had captured the hearts of many men in the village. The woman that held his heart in her hands. The woman that he so delicately held in his arms.
She was curled up, not unlike a kitten. A small smile had graced her light features. Her face was completely relaxed in slumber. Her hands so gracefully cupped each other, resting in her lap. She looked so peaceful. He was glad to be allowed to see this side of her.
He removed the senbon from his lips, and cupped her chin. He pressed his lips against her softly, unable to resist. He felt her lips curl into a grin and respond to his kiss. He knit his other hand in the surprisingly soft hair.
When they had broke apart for air, she muttered in a soft voice, "Taking advantage of a sleeping girl? Really Genma-kun..." She had emphasized the 'kun'. He loved how soft and loving her voice had become when speaking with him.
He loved when she was this close to him. It was no surprise that the girl smelled like cherry blossoms. It was also of no surprise that that had quickly become his favorite smell.
"I just couldn't resist," he gave her a smile that clearly said 'mischevious', "You look so sweet when you're sleeping."
She gave a mock-pout and sighed,"Oh? Then you don't think I look sweet when I'm awake? That wouldn't pose a problem, now would it?"
"Of course not," he gave another one of those grins that Sakura had come to find irresistable, "A kunoichi should be tough. It's something to take pride in."
She gave a large grin and layed back down on the man's chest. She loved listening to his heart-beat. It always made her feel so safe. All her worries just melted away. All that existed was her and Genma. That was perfectly fine for her. Hell. She wished all thier moments were spent like this. Peaceful. No worry. No fear if thier next mission would leave them without the other. There were just two steady heart-beats. Two people in this world. Fortunately, the other was all she needed.

Short, but sweet. Drabblish. This was made for a person that I respect highly. She asked me to post it here, so here it is.
