Rodney's face had collapsed a split-second after the Transporter doors closed but that didn't mean that John couldn't see it.
Atlantis was showing him.
Projecting the footage of a broken scientist onto the Transporter wall.
Punishment for how he'd treated one of her children.
John let his head fall back.
Why had he said that?
If there was anyone on Atlantis John trusted it was Rodney.
"It's not you I don't trust," he whispered, "it's me."
He felt the transported begin to move, reluctantly, much slower than usual.
And knew it would take a long time to put this right.
