Bella's POV
"Alice, truthfully, do you think Edward will notice?" I asked her, examining the damage.
Edward's POV
I was seperated from Bella for more than four hours and I was finally going to see her again. No matter how necessary it was to hunt, I didn't want to do it if it meant going away from Bella.
I ran all the way home as fast as I could, eager to see Bella. As I got in the house, the only two people there-Alice and Bella-looked extremely nervous.
"Are you two okay?" I asked, nervous also.
"Oh, yes, Edward. Let's go to your room and talk," Bella said quickly. Now I was really confused. Why did they want to get rid of me? Or was it just my imagination? I grabbed Bella's hand and walked upstairs with her to my room.
"What happened?" I asked her when we were alone. She was a terrible liar, it would be very easy to find out what happened from her. Alice was blocking her thoughts from me.
"Nothing," Bella replied. It was so obvious she was lying, but I still didn't know what was going on.
I looked out the window and I saw Alice running into the garage and running back out with a shoebox. What really made me curious was that she was thinking, I have to get rid of the evidence.
What evidence? "One second, Bella. I'll be right back," I said quickly and ran out the door and into the garage. My car was missing. Did someone take it or borrow it? "ALICE!"
"Yes, Edward?" she replied shaking, still holding the shoebox.
"Where's my car?" I asked in a calm, controlled voice.
Alice handed me the shoebox. I opened the lid of the box and looked inside. It was filled with ashes and a semi-circle that looked like half of a steering wheel.
