Jetlag sucked.
Being the Intersect didn't help Chuck Bartowski deal with it any more than the next person who'd just gotten off a long flight.
His apartment had never looked so good. The mission had gone well but it was still strange being solo.
Chuck didn't realize how much he'd relied and been comforted by Casey's presence until the NSA agent hadn't been there.
As soon as he stepped inside he was engulfed by a whirlwind of blonde hair. Chuck dropped his duffel bag as he caught Sarah in an embrace and kicked the door shut.
She smelled like heaven…..the comforting mix of lilies and vanilla.
"I should leave more often."Chuck joked breathless as they broke apart from a kiss.
Sarah smiled. "There are perks to coming home."
Chuck laced their hands together and gently tugged Sarah over to the sofa. "You'd think there'd be a way to counteract jetlag by now. Couldn't sleep much on the plane."
"How'd everything else go?"Sarah asked.
Nestling back into the corner of the sofa Chuck rested his feet on the coffee table. He pulled Sarah back against him.
"Good…weird but good. Flashes are still working when I need them to."
"That's how it's supposed to work."
Chuck yawned. "Yeah, well maybe my luck's finally changing on that."
"I missed you."Sarah stated quietly as she traced a pattern over Chuck's right hand.
"Missed you too."Chuck replied as he kissed her once more. "Reminds me….I got you something."
Sarah raised her head, eyes sparkling. "You didn't have too."
Chuck lightly touched her face as he pushed himself away from the sofa. "I missed an important holiday while I was gone."
"The roses were wonderful."The CIA agent protested.
"I had such big plans."Chuck explained as he dug something out of his bag. "Then that mission came up. But I can't let it be said that Chuck Bartowski forgot candy. You can't have roses without chocolate."
Sarah smiled as she was handed the red rectangle shaped box with gold lettering. As Chuck sat back down Sarah kissed him.
"Thank you they're wonderful."
"I'd give you the moon if I could, Sarah."Chuck stated quietly as he pulled her once more into an embrace.
"All I need is you."Sarah replied as she snuggled back against him. "I love you."
"I love you too."Chuck said softly as he felt his eyes drift closed.
Minutes later he was asleep.
