I published the first chapter of this story in September of 2011. I updated for two years, and then one day, I lost all interest in this. I think when you are so invested in a television show and then the writers go and take in a direction that doesn't jibe with you, you become angry and ignore it until it ends. I recently logged into my old email address and reread the reviews of Fine Then and it sparked an interest to go back and fix all the horrible grammar and unfinished plot lines in my story and in the second and third seasons of Glee.
So, here it is, the revamped version of one of my personal favorite pieces.
Chapter 1: I'm Blaming It On The Alcohol
"Yup I'm gay. Definitely gay."
"Definitely gay."
"Gay."
And then he left. Her heart broke. Rachel Berry actually lied to her best friend, blurting out a lie about having to compose songs and fleeing the coffee shop. The minute she sat down in her car, the tears started flowing. Fine.
Blaine "Warbler" Anderson can be all the gay he wanted. But it still broke her heart.
Yes. She felt something the first time they kissed, not because of the high amount of alcohol in their bodies. Because she believed there was actually something there.
But apparently, not for him.
"Don't. . .don't you want me? You know, I don't believe it when I hear that you don't need me?"
None at all.
Damn.
Rachel sat in her car, sobbing as her head fell to the steering wheel, making the horn bleep. She jumped and wiped her tears.
Fine then.
*.*.*.*.*
"Hey, do me a favor and hold my place in line alright? I gotta run to the bathroom." He said, running off to the men's room.
Liar, liar, pants on fire floated in and out of his head.
It's true. He felt like one. He, Blaine Anderson, just lied to a girl about feeling something when she kissed him.
He guesses he just has to pretend to be completely gay when he could easily be gay, or bisexual even.
"You think you've changed your mind. You better change it back or we'll both be sorry!"
But it rips his heart in half when he walks back out (twenty minutes later) to see Rachel's car from the window and her crying her eyes out.
He should go out there. He should go out and rip the car door open and take her in his arms and kiss her until the end of the earth.
But then he saw Kurt's bright smiling face and he had to smile - albeit weakly - too. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Rachel's car pull out and away and he sighed.
Fine then.
