Deep in the Dust

Here, within the dust of Mars,

Cut off from the light of stars.

Overhead stars twinkle high,

Can't see them through the dusty sky.

Alone, upon the dust I dwell.

Within this barren, airless Hell.

My crew is gone, left me alone,

And so within the dust I roam.

Earth so close within the black,

Yet escape's means are those I lack.

Can't communicate, in silence scream

Caught within death's living dream.

So I survive within this waste.

Hope leaving me with lots of haste.

Cut off from light of Earth and stars,

Within the dust of barren Mars.
