It is a lesson they all have to learn. Do NOT get between a Guide and his Sentinel when one or the other is hurt. Because as terrifying as Ellison's towering wrath is, Sandburg's is much, much worse. Ellison is all thunder and crashing rage but Sandburg is simply a force of nature, wild and raw. He looks at you with those dark blue eyes and you had better get out of the way. And that is completely understandable where those two are concerned, but when did this protective thing expand? Cause this time it isn't either of them. This time it's Rafe that caught a bullet, and God help the poor staff at Cascade Mercy, cause this time Ellison and Sandburg are united in their fury.
