All Might was no more. Unable to maintain his hero form anymore, Toshinori Yagi was content to live on as Midoriya's mentor, guiding him on the path to become his successor. The boy was maturing at a reasonable rate, and his comrades in Class 1-A continued to be a good ring of support for him. In time, the boy would be an excellent hero and a worthy successor.

For now, Yagi was walking down the street with his groceries. Eggs, milk, some bread, and just a little bit of apple juice. Next week would be the final day of their first year at U.A., and Yagi was going to make a cake for the class to celebrate. They had certainly deserved it after all they had been through this year. They had more experience fighting villains than anybody their age should have, but they managed to come out on top.

Continuing his way back to his home was a slow process. Having his true form exposed meant that he was a frequent target of fans wishing to express gratitude. It was a nice thought, but by the time people are offering up intimacy it was time to skedaddle. Further down the street, however, Yagi came across an unfortunate sight. An apartment building was on fire, and as far as he could tell the pro heroes were either busy elsewhere or not close enough to help in time.

Before having met Midoriya, Yagi would have begrudgingly continued on his path. Cursing his inability to help because of his injury. Now, however, Yagi made the only decision he could live. He charged inside to rescue everyone he could with a smile.

It was a different experience not having access to his overwhelming strength. He was much more fragile now, and anything he did was much riskier. The smoke was the worst part. Before he could expel the smoke with a quirk-enhanced exhalation of his lungs. No such luck anymore. Still, there were people trapped inside, and there wasn't anybody around to help but him.

No matter how difficult it got to breathe, no matter the burns he would receive, All Might's smile never faltered. For every person he carried out was another reminder of his dedication to being a hero. Every trapped young child that was overjoyed at his timely appearance, despite his garish appearance urged him onward.

He was definitely reaching his limit by now. Every breath was nothing but pain for him, but there was only one victim left. All Might forced himself to continue through all the pain. Kicking down the door, he found the last one. A small puppy, no bigger than five inches tall. With his trademark smile, All Might picked up the puppy and ran out as fast as he could. Keeping up his smile, he charged out of the apartment, set the puppy down, and gave his final words with a twinge of sadness.

"It's fine now. Why? Because I am here!"
