Author's Note: I liked Blue Dragon's "A Place for Yeerks" and along with some runoff story from "Sacrifice of Nothing, Infinite Gain, came up with this story.

Disclaimer: Yeerks as parole officers is entirely Blue Dragon's idea

Disclaimer: The idea of using Yeerks to extract the exact sequence of events from suspects on trial is taken from the trial of Visser One in "Visser" and I don't own any of the Animorphs, Andalites, Yeerks, or anything else in the Animorphs Books. All belong to KA Applegate, who I wish would write some more of something, though she does have the excuse of raising a son.

Claimer: I own the band "Vered" and all of their songs ("Eternity's Balance" "We are Change" "Change to Survive"), as well as Uvlad and Rylos and the DNA-reclamation process.

Imperial Bureaucracy Seeking Work.

It was a century after the defeat of the Yeerk Empire. Now humans were the most technologically advanced race, just a part of the Republic of Free Sentients. Yeerks were a vital part of the Republic, serving as a vital part of its criminal justice system.

After the collapse of its military and political might, the bureaucracy of the Yeerk Empire had turned inward, processing war tribunals for military and political leaders, commendations and reparations for humans, Andalites, and members of the Yeerk Peace Movement, economic stabilization, and dispersal and disarming of the Yeerk Fleet, all at a remarkable pace. With the majority of their leaders sentenced to death or exile, the Yeerk bureaucracy had tried to find a government willing to employ them. The newly-forming United Nations-based government was more than willing to provide the starving bureaucracy with plenty of work. Since the idea of Yeerks on Earth was still too discomforting for the majority of the human race, a large complex was build on Mars, with both Yeerk and Andalite military ship being converted to help with the construction. A terraforming program was begun, and a large Yeerk pool was constructed. After the placement of Yeerks in voluntary bureaucrat hosts, this new official system was able to work at double the speed, since it was possible to have two different sets of minds reading different things looking out of the same eyes. However, the system may have collapsed due to the greed of a man and a yeerk, had not two lowly paper-pushers of different species worked together to discover and foil their disgusting scheme. The villains in this piece will not yet be named. The heroes of this piece are Uvlad (You-V-lad) and Rylos (Rye-low-s). One of them is 5197 and the other is Jioapre. Later, it will be revealed that one of them is related to someone important. That person is dead at the time this story takes place.
