( another short cuz i'm still busy af. praise the lord for dat premiere. slowly killing me )
After cleaning up after himself and putting back his normal clothes, Marco went downstairs to the living room. What awaited him was Star sitting on the couch, watching another boring show. Yet, her mind was focused on the events that folded between the two. He slowly walked to her; the silence took an extreme toll in the household they shared.
"Uh, Star?" Marco asked.
"Yeah?" she replied, finally noticing him.
"I... I'm sorry about reading your journal."
"I was wishing you didn't read that."
"Kinda thinking about it, I would've read it eventually if I was still stuck there."
"I guess... but I'm glad I was able to dip down, despite the consequences. And I'm glad I freed you again."
"Yeah, thanks again, Star. You saved me once again."
Silence broke in again. Yet, it was quite clear that something was bothering them.
"Hey," he said, gently lying his hand down on her shoulder. "I never got to finish that chapter, you know."
"Good," she answered. "It was bad enough you were locked in my secret closet. Crossing that chapter would've drove me to insanity."
"Still, I wanted to keep reading."
"Too bad, Princess Nosy. Not even if you got locked in there again."
"C'mon, Star. If there's something, I have to understand.
He slowly took his hand off her shoulder.
"Star, I wanna know."
The two made direct eye contact. Silence broke in again, but a good kind of silence. Star was unsure on where to go from here, but Marco couldn't be kept on hold much longer, and all he wants is a yes or no.
She took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry, Marco... I'm just not spilling them."
"Alright," he responded with a bit of disappointment under his tone. "A shame, though, 'cause I was thinking about sharing my thoughts about you."
"What? Really? Share, share!"
"Nope! Too late for that, Star."
She gently hit him on the chest as Marco was laughing it up.
"You butt!"
He laughed for a while longer and then sat down on the couch next to her. Once again, silence roamed the house rapidly, but Star and Marco's thoughts were driving their insides mad crazy.
"So, is Glossaryck seriously gonna live in the new room you made?" Marco wondered.
"Honestly, who else would?" Star answered. "My ex? Your parents?"
He laughed for a bit. "Yeah, that was a stupid question."
