Authoresses Note: Short, short drabble for this pair that stole my heart after I finished the movie. I might do longer stories for them someday. We'll see what happens.

Warnings: Spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Pairing: Maleficent/Aurora.

Please enjoy and feedback is appreciated.

Afterwords

Aurora knows her father is dead. Knows by the sad look in Maleficent's golden eyes, the sorrow of a love long lost hidden there. She smiles a little. She didn't know King Stefan or the man her—everything—knew that well, but she did know he tried to kill the one person who meant everything to her and Aurora would never, ever forgive him for that.

"You're deep in thought, beastie. What's going on in that head of yours?"

Maleficent seemingly appears out of nowhere, her eyes curious as she stands next to her human.

"My father," Aurora murmurs, playing with loose leaves hanging from a branch. "I knew him for but a day before he tried to take you from me."

"You didn't miss much," Maleficent replies with distaste, her lips curling to a snarl. "Don't fret, my pretty. I am sorry that I took your father from you, but at the same time, I'm not. He would have corrupted your innocent soul and that is one thing I will never let anyone do."

Aurora can't help the little grin that pulls at the corners of her mouth. She did enjoy a possessive, protective Maleficent.

"It's okay, you know," she says in reassurance, standing up to stroke the brown appendages of her beloved's wings. "I'm happy we made it through the ordeal, alive and together."

Aurora puts emphasis on the last word, moving her hand to stroke Maleficent's pale, flawless cheek. "There is no one I could love more than you," she whispers, leaning forward and resting her head on the fairy's breast. "No matter what, I want you to believe that."

"I do," Maleficent whispers back, wrapping arms and wings around her darling Aurora. "I do, beastie."
