A/N I've heard alot of people are mad that Jin chose to stay with Sun instead of leaving to raise his daughter. I'm not mad. The whole situation is sad no matter how you look at it. This idea popped into my head. Its a what if story and my very first Lost story. I'm not even sure if this is good enough to post, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway.

Jin sat in the living room finishing up some work. He looked up when he heard tiny footfalls coming down the hallway.

"I miss mommy." JI Yeon sniffled climbing onto the couch and settling herself next to Jin. It had taken some time for Ji Yeon to adjust living with her father but she soon warmed up to him.

"I know. I miss her too." Jin said holding his daughter close."It's late and you need to sleep."

"Read me the story again." Ji Yeon begged.

Jin sighed, but relented and carried Ji Yeon to the bedroom. The two of them sat on the bed and Ji Yeon pulled out the book of fairytales from the bedside table. She flipped to the same story that Jin had read to her before he put her to bed the first time and handed him the book.

"You want to hear this one agian?" He asked adjusting the book as Ji Yeon climbed into his lap and nodded.

Jin reread the story and tucked Ji Yeon back into bed as she had fallen asleep as soon as he finished reading.

Jin left his daughter to sleep and went back to his work. He was about to go to bed himself when his phone rang.

"Hello." Jin answered in English, seeing that it was Sawyer who was calling him.

"Jimbo." Sawyer greeted using one of his famous nicknames "How's fatherhood treating you?'

"Good." JIn answered with slight hesitation in his voice."Sometimes I think I made the wrong choice."

Sawyer was all to familar with what choice Jin was talking about. He still held some guilt over what happened on the sub and kept in touch with Jin to try and ease his conscious. They wrapped up the conversation and as Jin hung up the phone and drifted off to sleep, his last thoughts were of Sun begging him to go. He woke up in the morning to the smiling face of his daughter and in that moment he knew he made the right choice.
