Going Under
Joey felt his stomach fell with butterflies as the announcer called out his name. "And now, next in the annual Domino High School Talent Show, its Joseph Wheeler singing Evanescence's Going Under."
Joey slowly walked onto the dark stage as the white spot light turned onto him, showing off his black hoodie and chain pants, Joey took the microphone. "Thanks... Uhh…. This is dedicated to someone who will remain unsaid."
The song started. "Now I will tell you what I've done for you. Fifty-thousand years I've cried, screaming, deceiving, and bleeding for you. And you still wouldn't hear me!" Joey looked through the crowd for his dedicatee. His eyes fell on his brunette day dream. "I'm going under! Don't want your hand this time, this time I'll save myself. Maybe I'll wake up for once. Not tormented daily defeated by you. Just when I though I reached the bottom." Joey quickly closed his eyes so the icy eyed boy wouldn't see was looking at him, Joey's voice started to quiver with emotion. "I've died again. I'm going under! I'm drowning in you! I'm falling forever... I've got to break through! I'm going under!" Joey pulled the sleeves of his hoodie up, not remembering why he kept them down. "Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies…"
The young brunette CEO looked up from the front row at the Mutt singing. Seto's eyes widened slightly when he saw the wounds of fresh cuts on Joey's wrist… that's when Seto started to wonder who this Mutt could really be singing to.
"So I don't what real and what's not… Always confusing the thoughts in my head." Joey took a deep breath to keep from losing it. "So I can't trust myself anymore!"
Seto began to fell a bang of guilt when he had the thought run through his head that it might be him.
"I've died again…" a slight tear ran onto the stage floor. "I'm going under! Drowning in you… I'm falling forever! I've got to break through! I'm going under!"
Joey took another deep breath. "So go on and scream! Scream at me!" Joey's voice quivered again. "I wouldn't be broken again! I've got to breathe, I can't keep going under!" Joey let the music take over for a few seconds as the guitar music played.
As Joey's hazel's eyes full of sorrow fell on Seto's, Seto knew it was him Joey was singing to. "I've died again. I'm going under… Drowning in you. I'm falling forever… I've got to break through... I'm going under… I'm going under… I…" Joey let it trail off; no one but Seto noticed because of the thunderous applause. Joey slowly walked off the stage, walked through the crowd and started towards the restroom.
Seto stood up and speed after him. Seto through the door of the restroom open and stopped Joey's stall door before it closed.
Joey looked up, his sleeves down again. "What do you want, rich-boy?"
The anger and hatred that usually filled the CEO's eyes was no such thought. What was there now was worry. Seto grabbed Joey's wrist and pulled the sleeve up. "Wheeler, what's this?"
Joey snatched his hand away. "None of your business, Kaiba."
Seto pushed Joey up against a wall in the stall beside the toilet. "Yes it is, isn't Wheeler? That song was dedicated to me wasn't it?" Seto asked in an oddly kind voice.
Joey was speechless. "I...I..."
Seto suddenly pressed his lips agaist Joey's, Joey too surprised to say anything. Seto pulled back. "Joey, I'm sorry I made you feel that way, I really am… C… can we start over?"
The End
