"Rapunzel!" called Mother Gothel.
"Coming, Mother!" said Rapunzel with a sigh. Rapunzel had been trapped in a tower since she was a baby. Mother had said that she was free, but then why was she never allowed to leave the tower. The only people who had ever been in the tower had been Mother and herself.
"Rapunzel! I'm not getting any younger!" Mother shouted.
"I'm coming, Mother!" Rapunzel yelled, exasperated. She stood up from the window sill she had sat on and swung her long, blonde, hair over the hook connected to the window. Her hair fell and dangled over the window sill as it hovered over the ground. Mother Gothel made a loop with the hair and stepped onto it, and Rapunzel pulled, using all her strength to haul Mother Gothel to the top of the tower.
