Author's Note: Hello readers! It has been a long time since I have published anything on . I am trying to find more time. Lately, I've been writing a lot of poetry. I wanted to know your thoughts. This poem is a metaphor for the SasuSaku relationship. I am simply paying homage to it. Please let me know what you think!
Sincerely,
Sweetness
The Hawk and the Cherry Blossom Tree
On the brink of winter's end
Life began to flourish
And the most painful of wounds
Would soon mend
T'was the arrival of spring
It was now time
To take flight
For him and his wings!
Gliding through the skies was a hawk,
Swarthy and proud
His ambition,
Higher than the clouds
His winged brethren following in hot pursuit
The traitor!
He took all that was left
Of their sumptuous fruit
Since his early days,
His clan deemed him
An outcast,
Disgusted by his chicanery and deceit
This moment
Was to be his last
Soon after,
He eluded his kin
As silently and as surreptitiously
As the morning wind
Upon the canopies
Of the high tree tops,
The young hawk
Caught sight of a nest
He soared higher
And moved west
While approaching his destination,
He was ambushed
By another feathered foe,
The Raven
A creature
Incomparably larger than he
Fought back,
Forcing him to flee
Following a brave retaliation,
The young hawk,
Battered and beat
Suffered a grave affliction
And grudgingly accepted his defeat
The poor creature lay feeble and weak
When he tried to stand
He tipped over,
And landed on his beak
Again,
He stood
This time would be it
He just knew he would
The young hawk instead fumbled
And down below he tumbled
Headfirst,
Taking a turn for the worst
His eyes opened
After gravity had done its deed
And fears assuaged
Now,
Where would his destiny lead?
The hawk realized
Not long after
His broken wings
Rested in the sturdy arms
Of yet another
There she was,
A cherry tree
Her flowering arms
abloom!
He watched,
Inebriated
As her delicate petals danced
To nature's tranquil tune
Hanging low from her branches
She offered him
A taste of her
Succulent fruit
To his delight
She nursed his broken wings,
While he consumed
All that she gifted him
The hawk decided
He would return
The following year,
On a whim
Shielding the young creature
From the outside world
And embracing him,
With her tender care
He knew a love like no other
Unconditional and enduring,
Beyond compare
She outlasted
The harshest of winters,
Waiting for his return
For it was his presence,
That she yearned
Every spring,
She flourished
And every spring,
He nourished
Four seasons passed
And one day
He did not return,
To her dismay
Soon she realized
The hawk sought refuge elsewhere
And had taken everything,
Leaving her branches
Lifeless and barren
He betrayed her,
And could not stay
Leaving her broken
And withering away
In the end,
Unbeknownst to him,
He would never find
A life force as giving
And a love like hers
Ever again
