Location: Paris. Hotel room
Telephone rung.
"Valon's listening"- sleepy voice answered
"Wake up, it's already past twelve. It's me Mai. By the way you are officially hired and I've ordered tickets for tomorrow"
"WHAT? Tomorrow?"
"Yup. So get ready."
Next morning, in the airport
"Hello, Mai"
"Hi, Valon"
"Thanks"
"For what?"- she was a bit surprised
"Helping me to get a job of course"
"You shouldn't be thanking me. I was so rude and mean with you before, so I fell a bit guilty."
"Don't bother, it was all my fault."
"Anyways, it's in the past now. So come on, we have to board the airplane!"
"Mai…"
"Yes?"
"Where do we fly?"
"New York"
"It takes pretty long to get there!"
"Yes. I know"
They got on the plane. Most of the flight they spent in silence. When Mai fell asleep, she dropped her head on Valon's shoulder. He didn't move, afraid to wake her up. Then he fell asleep himself.
"Dear passengers, our plane will land in New York in ten minutes, please fasten your safety-belts and set your seats in vertical position. Thank you, for your attention"
"We are already there?"- asked Valon, raising his head
"Suppose so"- answered Mai, doing the same. Then Mai understood, that she was using Valon's shoulder as a pillow. She blushed, but said nothing.
When they quitted the building, idea popped in woman's head
"Hey, Valon. You have nowhere to stay here in New York, right?"
"Yes."
"Well, you can stay in my apartment, till you find a place to live. Okay?"
"Thanks, Mai"
"There is my car parked"
The two got in Mai's black BMV (a/n I love these cars .) .
Valon couldn't sleep this night, so he decided to walk in the kitchen and get himself something to drink. Mai's apartment wasn't big and too rich. But it was comfortable there. When he went inside, he got the feeling, which never left him, that he came home.
Valon was very quiet. But he figured out Mai wasn't sleeping either. She said
"You couldn't sleep or just woke up for a few time"
"Couldn't sleep"
"Me, too. Maybe we can watch a movie? I have a pretty big collection, prepared for the nights like this."
"Does it happens often?"
"Yes. Almost every night. So what about my suggestion?"
"With pleasure"
They chose "A Killer Within" (a/n I owe this DVD!)
"So what do you think about the end?"- asked Mai after it
"It's not explained, what he will do next!"
"That's the main point of the film!"
"I hate such endings"
"Really? I like them most of all"
"Mai, can I say something?"
"Of course"
"I still feel the same way about you"
"I know."
Valon decided to take his chances and kissed her. She didn't try to break the kiss.
